Pink Flowers.

Do not text me or think otherwise
I am just picking flowers from my garden.
Last evening I picked a red rose but
Wow! It proved to be too red for my date
Today I visited the same garden
The only flower I found was a white rose.
Where is my favourite pink rose?

This morning I cycled to the market
Sure, to buy my date a pink rose
But the only roses there were yellow and purple.
Tried to enquire where I could get one
But no one knows where to find.
Went to my flower vendor but nowhere to find
Where will I get my pink rose for my date?

Tomorrow, I'll travel far and wide
Only to get this precious pink flower
And if I succeed, my date will be happy
And my heart will find a solace rest

Mother, How Hath Thou?

Today is another commemoration of your exit
A day that has always been inscribed inside me
That day that even angels regard with amusements
The lone day that you bade us farewell
And glorily trod the stares heavenward
Leaving us heart broken and without squeals
Yet you had to go and be crowned

Your leaving was a thorn in our flesh
Very sorrowful moments in our souls and hearts
Teary seasons, dark nights and gloomy days
That day you left us is still as new as yesterday
Just as sure as our tongues can pronounce
And as true as darkness and day exist
But your leaving was a turning point for us

Mother, you were our sole goddess on earth
The only refuge for a suckling toddler

Road To Merryland

Travelling is travailing in the sea of life
The life one must aspire to enjoy
That travel to the abode of joy
Where the weak strengthens and the lads’ joy
Ti’s a journey where the eyes meet the sky
The horizon to find peace and shelter
But obstacles enroute too much to behold
Coz it’s a journey too short to be long

Started at wake of cock crow
When the goats had not chewed their last curd
The children not had their last milking spree
But the cranes were already stalled
Ti’s a journey to call a friend to squeal
A journey too rough to coo one to sleep
But obstacles too much to clog the mind
Coz it’s a journey too short to be long

Every junction, each leap an obstacle
Who planted such on this road to Merryland?

Road Back From Merryland

A journey with a course of achievements
A road most traveled but obstacles too much
Too, much to behold and count as normal
A visit thence met hearts of wonders
Minds to rethink and tongues to salivate
Coz ti’s a tale to talk over this travel

The journey from Merryland began after sundowner
Shortly after chicken visited their roost for the nights rest
Birds having sang their last night’s choral choir song
The wolves ready themselves to trod the dark night
And as the stray dogs hunt trampled hares and antelopes
Before Merryland tales are told out loud and clear.

By donkey or oxen, the journey must be taken
A journey worth it began with amusements
First was no means, second, means availed but to where?
Means destined to Cheeryland, that land of nightmares
But will the travelers reach home on time?
On time before tales of Merryland are told out?
