Words
are like water
..............in a stream
endlessly flowing
..............into meaning
gathering
..............whatever
dissolving elements
...............cascading sentences
until becoming
...............manuscripted documents

Evening In
she
wearing the moon
of night’s melodies
they
sipping wine
tasting its whisperings
together
in Eden’s labyrinth
searching refrains in the dark

Autumn Musing
I smell the autumn leaves a burnin'
and see the lazy smoke arisin'
across the valley it's a spreadin'.
I love this hazy, lazy feelin'.
The sun is reddened and a settin'.
The air is coolin' in Mt. Vernon.
It's long since I been to Mt. Vernon
and smelt the autumn leaves a burnin'.

Peace (acrostic)
Palpitations in every human heart
Encourages a human surge to take part.
Activities spawned by love, concern, and patient desire
Contribute to an eternal inner-burning fire
Enlightening hope with which we should all aspire.

Rearranged
parked the car
reparked the car
bought groceries & paid the bill
in the cart she rearranges them
unpacked the groceries into the closet
she rearranges them
set the table and then –
she rearranges it
washed & stacked the dishes
she rearranges them
long ago I said I do –––
now I wonder who this person is

Ocean Revery
ocean's pounding surf
reoccuring memories
trying to forget
a sea gull's keen eyes
ocean's stroking ablutions
my daily failings
a forest beckons
across this untainted field
fresh snow innocence
footprints in the snow
wherever your beauty hides
I'll willingly go
waking to your beauty
finding your quiet waters
ecstasy of love

Murmur In The Trees
murmur in the trees
white swans in a tranquil swim
early azure mist
early evening sounds
orchids bend over the bridge
catching water songs
slow flowing waters
breaking surface in its song
this happy green frog
a distance apart
loneliness a joyless path
shadows edging closer
under the shadows
fishes school in eagerness
sounds walking the bridge

Rainbow Falls
(Jackson County, Ky)
We liked to go there
dropp down beside its cascading waters
peer into its collected coolness
sidle up to the edge of its lap
thinking of taking a leap
Seemed like no one ever came ––
but we knew –– that others too
stole to this place
drawn to lean over its lip and flirt
with its rainbow’s end
Our hearts still meld
in the rainbow there
in Jackson County.
