That Fellow Moon (Ghazal)
When I first saw you, I felt a hello-moon,
Like I was phasing into a tallow moon,
Sitting in a chair/hands moving/crocheting,
And I longed only for your allow-me moon.
A sweater, scarf – I really didn’t notice.
My eyes were still hazy with a sallow moon.
Watching your fingers back and forth back and forth.
My swaying and shimmering with a jello-moon,
Wanting to learn the warp of your creating,
Caught up in the glowing of a halo-moon.
Teach me teach me how your Christmas fingers fly.
I’m ripe for learning/spring in this fallow moon.
Drawn into your eyes I feel their allure.
Ben, said I, it’s time/forget that fellow moon.

Albin the Aardvark
In Albany abides an aardvark, Albin. Albin is an albino animal. All around Albin's abode, abound the almighty ants. Another animal abiding alongside Albin's abode is Algie the alligator. He's an animal alligator. Almost all afternoon Albin the aardvark ambles up and down the alley always alert. Almost all afternoon Algie the alligator is asleep in the alley. One afternoon, Albin the aardvark ambles alongside and awakes Algie. 'Al! Any appetite? ' 'Auuuuuuugh! , ' answers Algie, 'Awful appetite.' After ambling around, Albin goes abed and is asleep. Algie is also asleep with an awful appetite. What do you think Algie the Alligator could eat with the awful appetite? (Algie can only eat things that start with 'A'. Help me out. I can only think of 8.) . I don't know if this is considered a poem or not. Help me out.

Danse Macabre
We all must learn to dance the danse macabre
Dance our wishes, dance in constant revolution
It all began with the apple and the arbre
Not to forget that we are humans still libre
Not look into those fiery orbs of perdition
We all will learn to dance the danse macabre
From time to time sing hymn a hosanna
If only we keep our inner motivation
It all began with the apple and the arbre
We must continue and sing a tra la la
Keeping our sights on that higher elevation
We all must know to dance the danse macabre
On land and on sea we see the rhea and orca
Frolicking and swimming with some apprehension
Not to forget the eaten apple at the arbre

Living in Bowling Green (Ghazal)
Excuse me, but my favorite color isn’t green
Even though I live in the city of Bowling Green.
In its history the people played such lively games.
On many sunny days their fun was bowling on the Green.
In his boyhood here there lived a man named Duncan Hines.
One day you might find his colored cakes in Irish green.
Oh yes, this city is the home of the car Corvette.
If it pleases you, you can own one painted blue green.
The school my son attended here was Bowling Green High.
His closest friend in French class was Emily Green.
About once a week I visit our Bowling Green Mall.
There you can plainly see its signs printed all in green.
With pollution and economy the way they are,
I am happy to see the city still going green.

Beauty or Truth
How shall I love you
................in beauty or in truth?
Your beauty is plain to see,
Not something you can hide.
Your truth must you freely give me.
So deeply within you it abides.
I prefer to touch your beauty,
There in your eyes where it glows.
I cannot feel the truth
That in you somewhere grows.
I cannot taste the truth,
Sweet words in your mouth,
From deeper thoughts where it lies,
But your lips are tasty buds of everything alive.
I cannot smell the truth
................of your firmament,

A Tower of Power
We will build a tower
With unbridled spring-water attitudes
Flowing with fires of charity
For all the suffering multitudes
Dispossessed and swallowing poverty
We will give them power
We will build a tower
With lots of windows and no ears
With promises for those who have ceased their quest
For the young and old in years
For those who no longer turn west
We will give them power
We will give them power
Give them tomorrows and rainbows in tomorrow’s flowers
Help them fill pitchers with milk, honey, and cream
Reap the green of crops they have never seen
Shelter them from the cold, black screams
They will scale the tower

Hungry Moon (Ghazal)
It slowly creeps across the sky prowling for escapades, that hungry moon.
Darling, come with me, flirt with the night, I’ll protect you from that hungry moon.
We’ll dance the habanera and let it have its way with us all the night.
Then we’ll slip into the darkness under the shadow of that hungry moon.
With the conversation of the dance we’ll outshout cries from that hungry moon.
Together we’ll evade the ever-watching eyes of evry hungry moon.
We’ll outrun the loneliness that has stalked us throughout the slow-turning day.
A long day awaited, gobbled up during the night by a hungry moon.
We’ll look into the dream-lit stars until we’re dizzy, remember this night.
We’ll head for the shadows where it is darkest, away from the hungry moon.
With the swooping and snatching of an owl as it seizes its frozen prey,
I will not leave you in the shadows of the night or prey to that hungry moon.
Like a yelping dog, with the name of Ben, we’ll be racing across the ridge.
Encircled in my arms I’ll protect you then from that ever-hungry moon.

This Day What Future Will It Bring (Kyrielle Sonnet)
This day what future will it bring.
What songs will we finally sing?
Snow quietly gracing the ground.
There will then come a silent sound.
We will be skating on the pond
And ev'ry one will form a bond.
By crackling fire we'll gather round.
There will then be a silent sound.
No recipe will we follow
Flitting the night with the swallows.
We'll form a ring around, around.
There will then come a silent sound.
This day what future will it bring.
There will then come a silent sound.

Kake-Jisku Ghazal
Nature’s seams of seasons en plein air sur terre
orbit of harmony en plain air sur terre
Primavera, our eyes rise for your coming
long distance traveler en plein air sur terre
dallying with each stroll through the country side
genesis/life’s rebirth en plein air sur terre
Summer you burn away our sins of passion
fire dances hovering en plein air sur terre
vaporizing our dreaming/hazy vision
twisting, rising prayers en plein air sur terre
Autumn shedding all our leaves multicolored
final ashen harvest en plein air sur terre
Mother Earth’s savoring charms ceasing to flow
all the seasons sucked dry en plein air sur terre
