Welcome Home Soldier

Coming home, so many beside me
But so alone
So many friends that helped to guide me
Now on my own

The soldier I chose to be
To fight for the free
The price to pay, I know today
Lives on in me

Many friends from my small town
They gather, they surround
They welcome me back home
But part of me is not around

Part of me is hearing heart beats
Of friends that fought with me
I watched them fall for freedoms call
They haunt me all

Christmas White

Beneath a tree
A mistletoe
Holding someone
You love close

The snow outside
A Christmas white
Children asleep
Dreams in their eyes

Noel
Silent night
Words known well
Caroled tonight

Bells on doorways
Christmas lights on every tree
See the wreaths
Looks like a Christmas white to me

The Red Sun

Far across the waters
The wind and rain it gathers
Looks like a storm
The world has never seen

As all the world looks on
A hurricane moves on
Did you not see
The red sun it bleed

Far across the horizon
Before the night fall ends
Before the break of day
Where the sun has always been

I looked and I could see
Didn’t know what it did mean
Did you not see
The red sun it bleed

Woman, Oh Woman (A Song)

Woman, Oh woman
Why do you make me feel
Every time I'm near you
My heads a spinning wheel

Woman, Oh woman
What have you done to me
Woman, Oh woman
Did you cast a spell on me

Woman, Oh woman
When you touch me, I chill
When you kiss me, I'm in heaven
I've known nothing so real

Woman, Oh woman
When I gaze into your eyes
I'm blinded by the passion
I feel that's deep inside

Mine Eyes

Sometimes we say before we speak
It's funny how we so bold
Without a word the words are still heard
Somehow the eyes they told

Isn't it funny how we can be
Such creatures of such mystery
All that we are and what's true in our hearts
Through our eyes we can so clearly see

Oh the mysteries within our own souls
We hide so others wont know
But in the end and in the blink of an eye
Your eyes on you they told

Isn't it funny how life can be
Isn't it funny about you and me
Such creatures we are we tell on our hearts
Our eyes have so learned to speak

Tearing This House Down (A Song)

Me and this here dozer
Were gonna tear this house down
To many years of memories
Have all let me down

This house is coming down
I'm tearing this house down
To many years of memories
Where love was never found

I'm gonna start with the bed room
Where there's never been no love
And tear right through that living room
Where livings been so rough

You won it in divorce decree
So what is your is yours to keep
You can have whats left of this debree
But this house is coming down

Lonesome Heart

The mighty oak I see outside
It's roots are deep and long
It will live a hundred years
And bend when winds are strong

I sometimes feel I can't go on
Losing you is hurting me
I sometimes wish late at night
I had the strength of that old tree

The days my friends they stand by me
They tend to help me through
But then at night when darkness falls
Again I'm missing you

I try to fight but strength won't come
Soon I fall apart
Then the tears fall like rain
So alone is a lonesome heart

The Rail

Long hard days, long cold nights
I work on the rail driving rail road spikes
I work all day from dusk til dawn
We don't take a break til the beans are done

The boss man says, Pick up those spikes
Lay out those rails make them fit just right
Pick up the hammer and drive it in
What I'm paying you boys, I ain't your friend

They pay me boys to tell you what to do
There's another thousand rails to lay, we ain't through
I work all day and I bust my back
I make my money on a rail road track

I work long days and long cold nights
Lay out that rail and lay it right
Pick up a hammer and I drive it in
Then reach for another and do it all again

Recall Of The Heart (A Song)

I don't remember this part at all
It was love, honor and cherish, I recall
For days and days on end
The fighting never ends
I don't remember this part at all

I remember when we both stood at the altar
I remember when we both took our vows
I remember loving you
And you loving me
I remember love was what it was about

I don't remember hurt
I don't remember cruel
I don't remember
Heartaches to come
Was in the words when I said the words, I do

I remember every line
It all still comes to mind

Red, Red Rose

Red, red rose, she blew her breath
Fingers, it’s stem she caressed
Then she closed her eyes and breathed the fragrance in
Tell me red, red rose, where does love end

She placed the rose, gently against her lips
She plucked a single petal, with finger tips
And as the wind caught and carried up high
Tell me red, red rose, can love it fly

Slowly one by one, each petal fell
Upon the last in her eye, a tear it swelled
And then she sighed as she asked to her self
Tell me red, red rose, is for love, is this what’s left

Red, red rose, red, red rose
You stand for love you should know
Should we hold on tight with all our might
Must one day we let go
