A Vivid Dream
They say one can control their dreams
something that I can scheme
and dream about
one night my mind took a different route
I did the impossible
the improbable
I dreamed a vivid dream
Through determination
I lucidly dreamed of my own nation
an island off the coast
that was tropical
the sun was hot enough to
melt a Popsicle in seconds
it burned the whole island up
in fire the water didn't even help
The dream was so real
I could have sworn I would die
but it was all a dream
because before i awoke
the dream said 'nice try.'
