Valentine for My Cat

I made my cat a valentine,
Which it chased around the house.
I wrote that special valentine
On the back of a speedy mouse.

Monday's Child is Ill

Monday's child is ill, I'm told.
Tuesday's child has caught a cold.
Wednesday's child is down with the flu.
Thursday's child is feeling blue.
Friday's child can't eat any food.
Saturday's child is in a foul mood.
And the child that's born on the seventh day
Is the only child that feels okay.

The Night Before School Starts

‘Twas the night before school starts,
And all through the city,
Parents were filled with joy.
They were downright giddy.

Children huddled in beds,
Many shed a tear.
Thoughts of returning to school
Filled them with fear.

All around the city,
Parents said what they love to say;
"Better get to bed now.
Tomorrow's a school day! "

This Mummy Is Ready

There's one day a year
That I'm allowed to beg for treats.
My dog does it all the time.
It's amazing how much he eats.

I just might get aches and pains
From carrying my candy around.
In the Halloween record book,
I'd like my name to be found.

I've got a wheelbarrow, a wagon,
A donkey, and a yak.
I'll have tons and tons of candy
By the time I come back.

Everything is ready.
I'm a well-prepared mummy.
Who is going to stock up
On yummies for his tummy.

I Met a Celebrity

My family went to Hollywood.
There were plenty of things to do.
I decided on that trip
To make one of my dreams come true.

It was hot outside,
But I was looking cool,
Sitting in a chair
Right beside the pool.

I wanted to meet a big star.
It couldn't hurt to try.
I'd give that star my best smile
And charmingly say, 'Hi.'

Maybe the star would like me.
I'd become that star's best friend.
We'd go on star adventures.
The fun would never end.
