Complex Cinderella
Living in a fantasy world asleep
All her laundry left in a heap
She has a dream of being discovered
Her other life uncovered
Really a wall-flower who never knows what to say
She's not excused from the drudgery of each day
She's a complex Cinderella
Waiting to meet the right fella
Understanding her special dream
Wearing glass slippers is part of the scheme
If the shoe fits wear it
But it's so tight I can't bear it
This shoe was featured in a fashion magazine
It's one you probably have seen
A fairy tale contraption
Wearing it would take some adaptation
Fragile self image she's often left on the shelf
You'll find her sipping tea by herself
Until Mr. Wonderful comes along
She'll be doing housework and humming a song
