You Promised Me
You promised not to hurt me,
You promised things were fine,
You promised that you loved me,
You promised you were mine.
You promised you meant what you said,
About our future love,
You promised that my heart could soar,
You said I was your dove.
You promised we would always laugh,
At our random lines,
You let me think I trusted you,
That you'd break my confines.
I put all my hope in you,
Because you promised me,
That you were my future,
That you would set me free.

Educated Woman
I left school at an early age,
For horrors I have seen,
If I had had my own way,
That's not the way it would have been.
I'd have had my education,
Without the fear or hate,
But now that all's been said and done,
I know that it was fate.
I like to think I'm smarter,
For all the things I learned,
I like to think I'm stronger,
For the way my life has turned.
It would have been much easier,
To have stayed that way,
But because I left that place,
I'm alive today.

My Friend Lord Ravenswood Rivermist
My friend Lord Ravenswood Rivermist,
Of Rivermist Estate,
Has unicorns in the courtyard,
And fairies at the gate.
Close at hand are butterflies,
To help him dye the wool,
The little lambs all frolicking,
In multicoloured pools.
He keeps a friendly giant,
In fancy stable,
The unicorns eat candycorn,
And flapjacks when they're able.
The leprecauhns will sit upon,
A gilded garden pew,
And play tunes on their tinwhistles,
Whilst the pixies gather dew.
