Winter Doldrums

The bells ring out the New Year’s here
It’s hailed by all with liquid cheer
And then the ice-pack’s put away
The Bowl Game’s o’er, and sad to say
No more days off for months on end
A dismal fact – one we should mend.

But soon the days are quickly sped
And warm, green Spring looms close ahead
The fishing season comes once more
Vacation plans – days at the shore
The summer brings the most of fun
To children, ‘cause their school is done.
