Shadow Of A Memory
As darkness crept across the floor,
Slithering up the helix stairwell,
Merging with the darkness cast by my door,
Memory rippled athwart mind groundswell,
For liquid shadows create vivid picture,
Of morello cherry coloured eyes,
Flecked green with envy’s tincture,
Blinking eerily at hinge creaking cries,
Overactive mind left on ponder soak,
Somewhere within the heart of me,
Wrapped in thought billowed sable cloak,
There is still some small part of me,
That yearns for that old forgotten feeling,
Of warm, sweet sunlight oh so revealing.

Guiding Light
I’m adrift, floating in my boat,
trapped like hungry fish in a moat.
No land in sight, no coast, no shore,
just the sky and waters galore.
You’re probably feeling so alone,
worried that I did not come home,
and if only you knew,
then maybe you’d come to my rescue.
But wait, I see shadowy sands,
I blink, not sure if I’m in wonderland.
Then I knew you had guided me,
at night even this far out to sea.
For I have reached this blessed isle,
and I cannot resist a quiet smile,
and I just wish that star was you.
The star winked, my wish come true!

Mania
Hyperactive elation and hot rapture,
Excited clench of hands, rubbed over psyche,
Does depressively and belatedly capture,
Desired object in framed mentality,
Motivated by day notion of happy magic,
Brainwave bouncing along to cheered neuron,
Such minds wasteful of productive plus pragmatic,
Maniacal brainstorm is calamity cast from,
Counteractive serotonin privation,
Accelerating synaptic syndrome,
Body shuddering in horripilation,
As maximum overdrive spins up and kicks home,
Twist of mortal glee, altering reality,
For the hearts of men are held by fantasy.

Field Of Life
Lost in my own eden,
all ground flat and even,
no hint of winter’s season.
Only the warmth of the sun,
and blossoms of cherry and plum,
not even a cloud on the horizon.
Here flowers and towering trees grow,
and here a bubbling stream does flow,
no sign of a flake or two of snow.
Here the sky is blue and bright,
not a single dark cloud in sight,
just a land of summer’s delight.
Lost in my own paradise,
an unfettered field of life,
with no unwanted sacrifice.
Only a place of true tranquillity,
where the winds of time blow free,
no matter what your status or ability.

Winter's Fingers
I’m looking out of the window,
watching the rain turn to snow,
the land is running from winter’s grasp,
but naked trees mean autumn’s past.
Trees’ bony fingers reach for the sky,
but the pale grey sky is a little shy,
and will not answer their call,
no matter how big or how tall.
But the clouds do speak and answer,
with snow, the subtle breeze dancer,
and the snows’ frisky little caper,
covers the land and blankets nature.
The land is under a white membrane,
but on my side of the window frame,
all is cosy with the fire ablaze,
my window is now a frosty glaze.

Perfect Dreams
It feels so good to be with you,
just for the things you say and do,
for you’re ever so sweet to me,
and in my heart you’ll always be,
for I love your warm embrace,
and the smile upon your face.
There are no more tears,
as you vanquish all my fears,
for you show me that you care,
with all the love that you share,
that warms me on a cold night,
and shelters me from winter’s bite.
My mind is completely clear,
now that you’re standing here,
because to me, you’re very kind,
and you’ll always be on my mind,
for I love your soothing caress,
and your open friendliness.

Hold Me In Your Shadow
Your face will be in my memory forever,
I just wish that we could be together,
but it seems that it’s not to be,
for you were taken from me.
Now I know you are not to blame,
but I still hang my head in shame,
for I was never there to see you go,
so please hold me in your shadow.
I’m all alone in the twilight,
just hoping that you’re alright.
I don’t know where you are,
but in my heart you’ll never be far.
Tears roll from the corners of my eyes,
I never had a chance to say my goodbyes,
now even the stars brightness seems shallow,
now all you can do is hold me in your shadow.

Incendiary
Combined chemical cocktail flares awake,
Causing caliginous clouds to touch the skies,
Heated haze thickens into concentrate,
Of yellow, red and orange blaze surprise.
My vision opaque from soot black plumed smoke,
Which rises and mingles with the midnight,
As I fall to my knees, to gasp and choke,
Hands wrapped around throat, grasping so tight,
Still I shuffle on, towards the staircase,
In the small hope of freedom and escape,
Sliding down each step until the base,
Is reached, here I do make out a shape,
Through rokey fumed, flamed coiled doorframe,
Collapsing after they call out my name.

Saving Faith (Sonnet)
Believe yourself; don't ever lose your sight.
Never give up, keep straight on the right track,
Or for you it will be forever night,
No need to view your life in shades of black.
Your worst nightmares are those which you create.
So, up you get, and face your deepest fears,
Stand firm, and be yourself. Never negate!
Just realise that I will stem your tears,
As I surround you, so you'll be alright,
Such faith as this could never disappear.
Around forever, so let us unite.
You know, deep down, that I am quite sincere,
So open up your mind, follow your heart,
and let my shining light dispel the dark.

Return To Atlantis
(Close your eyes, listen to my voice,
dream of me and see this place…)
Within this silence, you will awake,
open the window, look at the landscape,
watch the clouds peaceful slumber,
their snores, a deep rumbling thunder.
Seek the warm but distant glow,
because it will show you where to go,
for the special path you need to walk,
will make your journey seem short.
If you are to survive the storms wrath,
you must find and walk the right path,
and follow it deep under the sea,
then you know where you will be.
Everything I’ve said you’ve heard,
listening to each and every word,
as you have joined me in Atlantis,
the perfect place to receive a kiss.
