Daniel Jacob White

Oh, Death

Oh, Death How sweet it is to be loved by you
Take my breath and make me new
How good feels your loving caress
now your here I may take my rest
for you oh, Death Have I waited so long
so many years have passed, so many gone wrong
I listen now as my heart subsides, the beat so slow
as I close my eyes.
Never have I felt so much peace, Now I give you my release
Oh, Death you are never late, without prejudice, without hate
I applaud you Death for a job well done, and I let my light go out
with the setting Sun.
