Dawn Ellis

Can you wait

I sit and often think
Can you wait for me
Wait until I get the strength
To go on my journey
I sit, Sometime scared
Will you give me the strength
To travel down this road to exstasy
I sit sometimes with a smile
Knowing you are by my side
I sit to and wonder why
Why do we keep living in a lie
When people say it's wrong
But it feels so right
I sit and pray to God above
That you will wait for me
Til the feelings we feel
Can finally be set free

We are making it

People don't understand
What we feel inside
That I finally found a man
And his heart is all mine
That he found a woman
That he can call his own
Everyone wants us to fail
Needing a hand out
To ask them all for help
But all we need is each other
Together Forever hand in hand
We are making it
Through all the thick and thin
And we know in our hearts
Where we've truly been
Through the smiles and tears
Together we battle all our fears
Our souls are a perfect fit
And together.............
We are making it

As we sleep

Tonight laying here as we sleep
Falling into dreams, falling deep
Thinking of us, and our life together
Hopeing my heart you will keep forever
As you sleep I feel your dreams
I am already there so it seems
Lying next to you in your arms
Throught the night, Keeping me from harm
I feel your heart beat next to mine
Knowing that everything is fine
As I wake and watch you sleep
I pray the lord our soul to keep
Bound together in love and marriage
Even when we are old and life could perish
As you sleep you start to smile
And I'm ready to travel with you
Across the loving miles

Bring him home

Something that pumps the adreneline higher
He loves being a firefighter
Everytime I hear the alarm
My heart drops, fear of harm
My hopes and dreams up in flames
God tell me how I would handle the pain
To lose the love of my life
Would cut me deeper than a knife
I sit and wonder 'Tonight a Hero'
Or that hero's time to go
To have him taken from me
Because he so much believed
To put his life up for another
Whether it a stranger or a brother
No matter what the call
He gives his best, He gives it all
Please watch over him tonight
Another fire, Another cry, Another fight
Whatever the call may be
Just Bring him back home to me
