Death of a poem...

Yes, I have killed the poem.
It begged for mercy
yet......

Do not blame me for this, but
blame the outside sun;
why does it have to be so scorching and scalding?
The cruelty of the summer Sun makes me angry.
Do not be upset with my mood-swings,
for it is the lunar tides that is responsible.
And if I appear to be whimsical,
and different from the rest of them, then
blame my zodiac sign and astrological array, not me!

They all have written about you;
the slightly plump one, the one elderly,
the fair skinned one and the one with deep eyes
that had pulled you towards illusion.
They all have poured their passion
into rhymes and rhapsody.

The plight of 'trust'...

Trust is the most beaten up and betrayed soul in this world.
It is often kicked and thrashed, pushed and slammed,
frayed and frazzled, torn and tattered
like a used worn out packing box.

I was told not to trust strangers;
I wasn’t supposed to trust friends;
everyone cautioned not to rely on any man;
people joked that husbands are never to be trusted!
a meaty chunk of my life is lived,
learning not to have trust for anyone.

A nation doesn’t trust another,
the poor will not trust the rich and vice-versa,
a religion is weary of another,
one sect has lack of trust for its other half,
a certain cult can never hold faith for the other!

Look at your neighbor with eyes full of suspicion
for you just never know!
