For The Fairer Sex

Once upon
Named as weaker sex
And later fairer sex
Now even they are in a state of flex
Reasons beyond the common reasoning
Some in search of noble pursuits
But many others got into the whirlpool simply lured
Wildly in haste to keep with the trend
All the ideals they leave behind and pretend
Core values of the family and culture they forget
And the pride and honor of dear ones is put to test
Yes! blame game we all play
But let that not result in dismay
Together with trend
Let culture, values, ethics blend
Feel proud and give the half-wits a damn
Noted is the saying “’I am what I am”
Remember! Ye all
Be prepared to loose a battle to win a war

The Tragic Magic Of Human Logic

Have you heard what I said!
I know, I understand and I can talk
Not about just my pet
I know all about my friends and friends’ friends
I also know about my neighbors friends and friends’ neighbors
Neighbors’ neighbors and so on
Do you think I know only the people I interact with?

How sad! I can as well comment with authority on Jhumpa Lahiri
Shashi Tharoor, Chitra Divakaruni, Bharathi Mukerji
Oh……..you think because of my doctoral topic of diaspora studies
I feel comfortable to speak about them with ease
Good Lord! I can prove and speak with assertion
Ernest Hemingway, D.H.Lawrence, Mark Twain beyond question
Yeah….Do you think
Due to Post Graduation where I studied hours together without a blink

Lo! I do comment, criticize and laud with authority
Not only KCR, Kishan Reddy, Jagan, Rosaish, Chandra Babu
But also Manmohan, Chidambaram, Nitish Tiwari, Advani and others

Challenging Changes

At daybreak when the day starts
All in a great hurry run fast
Men and women struggling alike
Gone are the days where only men strived
Being better-half, the women stayed at home
Grinding, cleaning, washing ….
Activities and chores as such
However hard they worked
No one considered it much
Commented and criticized by mother-in-law
Unnerving tension with unnecessary mention
By finding each single flaw
No less were children adding to the problem
Scattered books all around
Clothes off the shelves found
And to do all these works mother was bound
Added to these are the uninvited visitors
Some with invitations
Causing at odd hours irritation
But all these went in vain
