I Love Not The Unfamiliar

I love not the unfamiliar
And yet here I am

Change is coming, something else too
Death, perhaps, new life
Or love.

I resort to something I know
Which has strengthened me before

And change still comes, but I care not
Death, life or love now
Worry me not.

I still care not for the unfamiliar
Though now it is easier understood

Change comes, but I now am prepared
And I change new death, life
Or love.

Animal

'This city is an animal, fierce and complicated. To understand it I read its droppings, its scents, the movements of its parasites' -Rorschach

Living in the city
one loses oneself
amongst buildings, darkness
and madness.

City of madness,
inhabited by madmen
and the madmens children
seek their escape
in fantasies of happiness
where everything is pure.

Their methods are scorned
but in their worst state
reveal the worst truth,
City of loss.

Spit that Blood

Spit that blood from your mouth
whats it like to feel alive?
The drugs pumping through your veins
wake your mind like never before,
and you dance like an animal.
And your aching fists
testify to your dark thrill
and you fight like an animal.
You raised this monster out
to feel the thrill of survival
but now as you lie on the floor,
degenerate creature panting
dying, breathing, living,
you fear yourself and the potential inside
and now you realise, there is more to life than death.
