Erica Smith

Deepest shade of mushroom blue

Sometimes its like I slip away
Into this place where everything is dark and cold
Its only here where I can be alone with my thoughts
All alone with what seems to be reality
In the darkness I am not forced to look at this world of disgust
My eyes can shut and my worn mind can sink
Into the nothingness that is myself
Alone is where I find peace
But irony is upon me
For in actuality
Alone is where my sanity slips away
