Melted Wings
I flew too close to the sun's reaching, beckoning rays
I flew too close to the sun's bright, hopeful eyes
now I am choking in the sun's pool of heavy sighs

School's Out
Snow capped mountains
Deep red footsteps of experience
Trickled over 180 days
Rained from a heavy cloud
Could tell history over the course of ones life
Or notes of a histories past
Continuing to grow from a blank storm
No matter the subject
Residing in a recycling bin:
Lies leaked from a pen
Or worn down, easy to change
like lead
A graded history
It will soon obtain a new life story

When will my eyes' telescope refocus
Flipping others from upside-down to erect
Not a reflection
The almond shaped lens connecting
discovering other planets
revolving
When I don't worry that tears that never fall
will reveal the true identity
not pretty at all
The make-up and the salt

Fran
It is not simply a word
Do say it completely
Not for a conceited or selfish benefit
But rather as a monument to the exotic
The pleasures of a unique sound
And the laziness that comes with our fast-paced culture
In which communication through lack of words declines
Has created too many shortcuts
Snipped beauty at the stem
So it has been swept beneath a quick mouth
And what was once splendid and stimulating
While rolling off the tongue
Is now stocky
Short
Uninviting
Slow down
In everything
Appreciate the many forms of loveliness
Even in the simplicity of saying a full name
