A Wedding In Tuscany

A moon 3 days off full
Has risen over this gathering
Glowing on us all
visitors from the other side
of the world
As we all sit down to eat
In the garden of their dreams
Drink and be merry
In the Italian spirit
And all the girls and boys
In the employ of this vineyard
Work so hard
deep into the moonlit evening
Serving, smiling, sweating
---
It is a circle of happening a wedding
A gathering of joys
The bride and groom are toasted
The speeches are all made
The two of them of them look gorgeous

A Storm Is Coming

An angry grey comes from the deepening storm
Caressing the wings of petrels, gulls and a
Lone storm riding albatross
Greens curling twisting into grey corners
Black edges spitting razor rain
Wind driven craziness
Smiling predatory hunters gather on the front line
Storms bring nervous food sources
That have lost caution
Thrown it to the wind so easy
This wind that whips up salty froth
The rain rains
Big fish eat
Little fish die
There is a symphony of sound
That no one hears
Storms assume that the world is deaf
There is a hundred colours here
Mixing on this easel of nature
Out here on the sea of bluster

The Light In The Tigers Eyes

Sometime I cannot imagine the difference
Between you and the blackest night
You know those nights when only tigers stalk
And lie waiting for the sound of your breath
The faintest reflecting backlight is in their eyes
So I can only say one thing in your defence
You have laid with tigers
You have their scent
You know how they stalk and what they sense
I do not
And so I am terrified to lay in the thicket
And wait
---------
Have you seen a tigers foot
Stare at it soft and silent
Able to tread with no sound
On the leaf strewn floor of its jungleI
It can kill quickly without fuss and song
Except of course for its victims
Noises of dying

The Crazy Garden ('In The Madness You Find An Order')

Have you seen impatiens grow on spikey stems
I have in the crazy garden
Here egg shells grow on cacti
The infamous egg tree you told me about
Here crows use white washed picket fences as  serviettes
And metre long lizards tend the ferns
Where the garden lights never come on after dark
So you navigate the pathways by moonlight and birdcalls after 7
Where black monkeys are the upper tree gardeners
And civet cats use the golden cane ladders and
Together with the moon peer at you through holes
         In old verandah ceilings
Where elephants are your front gate wardens
And antheriums are only matched by hibiscus
In their pinkness plentiness and placing
Have you played with cotton flower seeds
         On evergreen tuft grass?
I have in the crazy garden
You can take the path of 10000 steps, you can stroll
The hedgerows or lay beneath the golmahore tree
