Chasing the Fairytale

Daisies and dollhouses,
plucked petals and prose,
Barbie and Ken,
lovers or foes?

Dancing delusions,
Cinderella in red,
Snow White lies snoring
in a shattered glass bed.

Fairytales are sweet
like silk and cheap wine,
they charm the senses
and mystify the mind.

Yet, you wake in a tangle,
pain twisting your head...
Happily-ever-after
is just something once read.

Something Within

Silent fingers strum
a whispered melody
crooning deep within
a forgotten memory,
where sorrow sings so softly
persuading guitar strings,
tears flow in harmony,
felt but seldom seen.

Phantom lyrics haunt
repeating words unsaid,
hypnotic hollow humming
bleeds like rusted lead.

A familiar serenade
from origins unknown
has captured my essence
and guides this mortal soul,
to places once abandoned
and stories left untold,
