Glenda Vibert

Waiting for inspiration

Here I sit pen in hand
waiting for inspiration, but
trivial thoughts invade my head
that's the temptation.
Now concentrate and think
Shall I write about Spring's blossoming buds -
Or the cats at the sink playing with the suds?
Or what about profound events like
World affairs - Afghanistan, Iraq and other
Nightmares!
I could recall childhood treasures
or present joys and woes - or future
pleasures!
I'l let my mind wander where it will
And see where it will take me.
Meanwhile I'll sit and think
Perhaps cogitation will help
me find my inspiration.
Sod it! I'll go and make a cup of tea!
