“He makes me Cry”

He makes me cry
One day at a time
He makes me cry
As my tears dropp in a perfect straight line

He makes me cry
Like hail falling from the sky
He makes me cry
From eye to eye
He makes me cry
Every single night

He makes me cry
Every time I gaze upon his eyes
But now, it’s time for me to say my byes
For he departs on the next red-eye
So, I will cry for the very last time…

Words Flow Like 'EBONICS

Words flow like Ebonics
You know, you know
That beat popping
Rhythmic sound of the ghetto—

Cognitive thought
Verbalize within the heartbeat
Of the city
Children voices-echoes
Sounds of spoken-word—

Our thoughts
Implanted in oral history—
History of revolutionaries
Freedom speakers
Breaking down cultural barriers—

Words flow like Ebonics
You know, you know
Gangster rappers-street talkers

Concrete Forest

Gang banging
Street banging
Concrete Forest—

People dying
Children crying
Bullets flying
No remorse for the fallen—

Crack smoking
Prostitute selling
Cops stinging
Benefactors of trouble times—

Blood
Guts—inside body parts
Cultivate the Concrete Forest—

I see a mother kneeling
A priest praying

Elegance of Peace

Worn torn cities—inner city violence
Death, sorrow and misery
Feelings of discontent
Conceptualize with malcontent—

Atom bombs, nuclear holocaust
Peacemakers of the world
Man-made instrumentation of peace—

So where is the diplomacy in that?
Does it really exist—Hell No!

We speak of peace
With total annihilation
Maybe, because peace/violence
Are mirror twins of each other
Like good and evil—there is no existence without the other—

So is this the elegance of peace— that we speak of?
The peace that we envision for our children
