Oklahoma

Oklahoma is where I live,
Kaleidoscopic in its land.
Living here can be grand.
Always wanting to forgive,
How much prejudice that I see,
Oklahoma will become a memory.
My time has come to depart,
And I leave here, with a fart!

Your Poneytail

I really like your ponytail
Does that mean you're a horse's ass?
Did you have to cut it, when in jail?
I really like your ponytail
Do you wash it without fail?
It really adds so much class
I really like your ponytail
Does that mean you're a horse's ass?

Your Work Ethic

I thought you wanted a career
It turns out you only wanted paychecks
You can't find work sitting on your rear
I thought you wanted a career
That you may never work, is a real fear
Your work ethic continues to perplex
I thought you wanted a career
It turns out you only wanted paychecks

Azaleas In Spring

The azaleas in spring,
Are a beautiful thing.
Shades of purple, red and white,
Oh, what a glorious sight.

The azaleas in spring,
In the garden they're King.
Around tax time,
The colors - sublime.

The azaleas in spring,
Make my heart sing.
The joys of the soil,
Make up for the toil.

The azaleas year round,
You may have found,
Are such a great pleasure,
They're beyond any measure.

Love's Colors

Love's colors are not all just black and white
The color of love, different to all
The prism of color is best in fall
They can be seen even in the dark night
See what you wish, red, pink, yellow or grey
Bask in its light, it will make you quite warm
It comes in all shapes and takes any form
Choose one you love best, and ask it to stay
Love's color is soft violet to me
I've only seen it twice in my long life
It's the soft color I see around thee
Both times I made that color my dear wife
I'm alone again and I do feel free
I cut out love's colors, and stopped the strife

Sunsets Are The Best

Sunsets are the best, that Mother Nature has to give,
Under the sky's magnificence, you'll live.
Not until you've seen the shades of red;
Sunsets look as if, the angels have bled.
Everything can be made, always better.
The best ones sent home, in a letter,
Sent home to your love, romantic, it will get her.

All the colors blended together like coffee with cream.
Reds, oranges, and the yellows, make me feel it's a dream.
Everyone should watch - they're always supreme.

The worst sunset, is better than the best night;
Held forever in your mind's eye, just might
Envelop your spirit, with colors bright.

Beware what they may do to you,
Else you'll stop, to smell the roses too.
So, every time you get a chance,
Take a breath, and seek romance.

My Prayer Sestina

Some serve the Lord
Some serve the Devil
Those who embrace God, embrace Love
Those who embrace Lucifer, embrace Hate
Satan wants to conquer and Divide
God wants to bring us all Together

Bring us Together
Dear Lord
Stop the Divide
And smite the Devil
With his unholy Hate
Teach us to better Love

We will Love
To be Together
And end Hate
Dear Lord
Banish the Devil
And end the Divide

Yesterdaze

Yesterdaze are gone, along with my youth
I'm older now, and longer, in the tooth
I have very few regrets from the past
You must look forward, there, the die isn't cast

The fog of the past is now hard to remember
Did that happen in October or in September
Yesterdaze can't be overcome, they're done
The choices were made, and it was fun

Much of the ‘70's is a fog in the past
Why change much, except the memories to last
It was my youth and I was a little crazy
That's what really makes it all so hazy

Too many drugs and lots of alcohol
Nobody wanted to change, anything at all
"Live for today", was the overriding theme
So many lost days, make me want to scream

Love Not Hate Sestina

I'm so glad that I found you my love
You must have been sent to me from above
You have taught me to never hate
Our lives entwined, it must be fate.
You and yours, I'll always cherish
Even after I shall perish

Us not being one, is a thought I perish
The nights are better with you my love
Our days together I will always cherish
My favorite times, watching the stars above
Is this our destiny, or is it just fate
The nights without you, I will always hate

Devotion is so much better than hate
These feelings I have, shall never perish
Our lives together, such a great fate
Shall this diminish, never my love
Only if the moon falls from above
Shall I stop loving the woman that I cherish

Time To Fight Back

The humans were encroaching on their hunting ground.
They'd have to send a dire message, which would be found.
They didn't want to fight or start a deadly war.
They were only three Shewolves, but were used to gore.

The humans always came in groups of two or more.
To kill just one human would be a grueling chore.
They tracked and they stalked for the perfect time to strike.
The humans all looked, moved, conversed and smelled alike.

They stunk, built fires, and trashed the ancient hunting ground.
Some stayed riverside, precious gold was to be found.
That was the venue to attack the greedy crews.
They didn't need more reasons to light their short fuse.

At night was the best time for a killing attack.
They needed to be cunning and not leave a track.
They didn't fear these beings, to fail was to die.
They had to fight for what was theirs, or at least try.
