Alone In The Dark

Here I sit inside my cell
Weighing thoughts sent straight from hell
In the light my spirit soars
But I dwell in darkness behind closed doors

My compass is a broken blade
That can never again be remade
My sight comes and goes with the wind
But gusts for me the gods wont send

I have learned that dreams cannot last
They just sleep forever in the past
This day has truly been a dark one
But tomorrow I hope to see the sun

Live On

I must have been designed in another age
And sent forth through time as frozen seed,
To be sprouted up and cut down like a weed,
For this world is cloaked in obscurity.

Oh, how I wish to be sent back where I belong!
Fate has destined me to live my life in seclusion,
Or, maybe this existence is just an illusion.
Whatever the cause, I just don't belong here.

In a world so big, why do I feel stuck in a trap?
I feel the need to journey to some far off place,
But I get lost before I even begin the race.
If only the gods would relieve me from this torment.

Maybe all I need is a little hope to get me by,
Just a fragment of a shattered dream,
Anything to silence this silent scream,
However it turns out, this is life and I will live it.
