Building Bridges by Linking Hearts with Words

Our poetry builds bridges across distance & time,
Words forming & flowing in rhythm & rhyme,
Sharing thoughts of love, friendship & pain,
A pool of dreams, humor, nature & sad refrains,
Penning innermost thoughts & feelings from the heart,
Hoping others conceive each ballad that we impart,
Leaving lasting imprints on the the readers' emotions,
Creating friendships as we cast our blend of unique potions.

Dreamers (acrostic)

Dream dust gathers in our minds
Rewinding sweet & sometimes bittersweet images from our daily lives
Everlasting & intriguing sights like a movie scene being played
Arresting our souls
Mirroring memories that are real & sometimes unreal
Enjoyable daydreams too once in awhile
Remembering those unique visions that are given to us in our sleep
Silently I sleep tonight per chance to dream.... hopefully sweet dreams without any nightmares

Retirement?

I'm chasing that elusive dream where I can retire,
Thinking that with it comes some well deserved rest,
With some peace & quiet & a good book... is what I desire,
But instead life & family demands more of me....much like a test;
Where I'm left searching for those leisurely 'Goden Years';
And I ask, 'Has anyone ever found them? '...I wonder,
The later years bring with them many tears;
Where my mind & body seem slower than ever...& so I ponder,
'How did all this happen to lead me here? ',
So I've decided that retirement doesn't exist...I fear.

The Raven's Bad Rap

Ghastly Raven like a beast appearing in the dark,
With boring eyes oh! so stark,
Knocking on death's very door,
Is it true of you...I implore?
Ominous bird they say...no, I do believe... just a bad rap,
I'm here to set you free....poor chap,
Your vast wings will ease your flight now to freely soar;
As you seek food..not death when you explore,
Since Poe's Raven...there's been for you too much strife,
Truth said...you're a loyal fellow to your mate & that's for life,
You now have the right to your freedom & to share it too with mankind;
And leave all this contrived bad rap behind.

Twilight Vista

Twilight is unfolding with an awesome purple view,
A rare parade in shades of crimson too,
This placid scene offers one a moment of peace for a time;
While a lonesome bridge invites one to enjoy more of this grand vista so divine,
From up above where we can take in this glorious purple twilight;
That will sadly only last until the dawn's early light,
Still there's a feeling of warmth from watching the golden lights that glow off the water below;
Where it seems more like a dream.....unbelieveably so;
And for a short while, at least, we were given some reprieve,
From life's many storms, but for now it's time to take our leave.
