Never Free

I'm never free from this pain
This suffering is mine alone
I could have changed my path
But in the end it would be worse

This pain I feel is great
Nearly unbearable
But I asked to keep it
And I will not turn back
For that is not in my nature

I will never be free from this
Not until this life is through
This horrible pain has a familiar face
And yet it is unknown

It rips at me from all sides
Trying to pull me in
