Rainbow Flickers

Morning breaks.
Shafts of rainbow's light
flood the stained windows
of last week's existence.

The radiance plays
iridescent games
in the shadows of my slumber,
forcing recognition
of a new beginning.

I peel back the shutters,
exposing the dim recesses
to the new day,
and wonder what may lie in store
at the end of that rainbow.

Verbal Tapestry

Such tapestries of magic wrought
by masters of their chosen art;
whose measured worth cannot be bought.

Within this place wizardry's taught
and each magician plays a part
in tapestries of magic wrought.

A diverse and bewitching lot,
some sassy, saucy, suave and smart;
whose measured worth cannot be bought.

Across the zones of time and thought
they serve poetic a-la-carte.

With grace a moment can be caught
by artists of the quill and heart,
