The media

Torture, kill
and crime
we hear these
words all the time
Money, scandal
doing time
The world has
come down to this
Eating disorders,
Coke, meth and rehab
Celebrities, television
and US Weekly magazine
No longer human beings
Just robots with skin
wanting to fit in
and we'd do just a bout
anything for it
even if it ruins who we were
even if it makes us less real.

I am purple
I am green
I've been lost
and I've been seen
I've been told I
was loved
and then told
to grow up
I am art
I am simple
Nothing Less
And nothing more
I feel so much
for some one so small
Sometimes my heart can't
take it all
This world offers pain
and we take it not knowing
with a smile on our face
