Hair Now Gone Tomorrow
It is neither here not there
But there was a time I had a lot of hair
As it passed, the time I mean
Everywhere my hair was seen
In the tub and in the sink
In the food and in the drink
Till all there was left my dears
Was a little bit above the ears

In Me
In me
A raging tiger sweeps the floor
Bloodshot eyes on the fragile door
To freedom, carnage & freedom again
To break the bonds, break the chain
Of greed & folly, folly and greed
Of those who were, are, and their creed
His claws are out, he can smell the blood
Of raised heads ground in the mud
But he waits and waiting in me
Claws my insides to be free

Hooks in our psyche floating free
Waiting for our greed to grab them
Fishing for fools in the consumer pool
That's the job of the Ad-Men
If I could steal the bait off hooks
I would do it in every river
I'd tie the lines to crannies and nooks
And watch the baiters quiver
Let truth let out its barbed string
Keeping all greed at bay
Let the jingle singers sing
But
Let the facts have their say

The Common Soldier & the Politician
In times of problems and peril
The politician comes wagging his tail
Praying the soldier would bail him out
And he does so without fail.
Once the peril is over
Lives are lost and medals won
The widow is patted on her back
And the politician's job is done
Then starts the silent battle
Then starts the difficult fight
The soldier's family lives on unsung
Through the lonely night
The politician spends a charmed life
And on his dying day
People who forgot men of steel
Applaud the man of clay

Ballad for a Macho Man
A ballad for a macho man
Who met an untimely end
Who sang the song of the swan
When himself he could least defend
Much happiness he spread in his life
And other things too, alas
Pleasing many a maid & many a wife
On all points of the compass
Four letter words he laughed off
'Sin' had only three
'No' with two he just cast off
And 'O', for him, was glee
Abed his fervour ne'er ebbed a bit
He was active morning to night
Then full of fresh determination & grit
He was ready for the real fight
