I Am Me

Not the hero that saves the day
Not the child who loves to play
Not the lost one with no place to stay
Not the wronged one with misunderstood ways

Not the lovesick with the aching heart
Not the mother shopping at the mart
Not the cynic with the sharpest tongue
Not the dreamer with ideas far-flung

Just a man with hope in his heart
Standing right here at the start
Who I am is who you see
All I will ever be is me

Hope.

Hope is the sweet, sweet scent
of flowers in the morning
Hope is the cool gentle breeze
on a warm summer's day
Hope is the knowledge of stability
from a son in mourning
Hope is the bright shining light
keeping darkness at bay

Hope is the calming warmth
during a cold winter
Hope is the determination
of an athelete on the track
Hope is the potential
of a newborn baby
Hope is the love
between you and me

Hope springs eternal

Asked to describe life
I said: ' the peaceful moments
with the friends you meet.'

Asked to describe friends
I said: ' the people you love
and care for daily.'

Asked to describe love
I said: ' feelings of goodwill
you have until death.'

Asked to describe death
I said: ' The equaliser
joy becomes nothing.'

Asked to describe joy
I said: ' opposite of sad
the happy feelings.'

Moon's Splendor

Look at the moon
Tell me, what do you see?
A portal to a world
where your dreams can be?
A magical theme park
where your attention is fee?
Or in this cosmic golf-game of life
the golf ball on a tee?

I see an orb filled with hope
parading through the night
Before the dark clouds of reason
cover its sweet light
Maybe a circus mirror
distorting whats wrong and right
Till the point you don't know
if you're still fighting the good fight

But if you trudge on through the night
and upon the moon you cling
