Cheating for You- His Story
I know you are lonely,
I see you twisting slowly
in that ill wind
unable really to resist
his soft words.
I see how you look at him
the times you've disappeared,
your time unaccounted for.
I see it in your
new makeup
and dress
in the extra care
you take in the mirror.
I see changes in you
and know they
do not come from me.

Infusions
You'll not find me in no white lace frilly frock
there'll be no be no silver slipper
and prince charming laughing
you'll find me walking doubts corridors
still bewildered by choices I've made
unreconciled to shunting realities
which lay down with me at night in the dusty silence.
Instead, I stare ceiling-ward
counting chards of my school girl dreams
wondering
still dreaming
of that prince charming kiss
of that silver shoe
of chariots
kings and castles.
So I lay me down to sleep
to dream me another dream
of a dream that is not to be

Bluster Too
We live in times replete
where mere contentiousness
and peace
compete;
where the loving soul
hides
not knowing how to sing in the dark.
If the herd stampedes to some popular view
pause first
rather than follow
will blim and bluster shape the morrow?
Small things in years
will matter least.
Life is the shaping force;
the sculpting of character
where the difference is learned between
large and small matters;

To My Rainbow Walker
I hear you
and feel your touch
on the keyboard each night.
I am here for you
and understand that spirit
you bestow
with each view and visit
each encouragement
you bring me
with each read.
This time is short time
and you will soar away
from bad time
to good time
overcome each
hidden away hurt
each unrecognized
human trait you possess

Her Laugh
Her laugh
was the smell
of newly washed linens;
fresh cut grass
child smiles
gypsy dances
the green spot at sunset
how Niagara Falls sounds
when you get close on the bus
crunchy snow
good molasses pouring
a special touch

The Dark Secrets of Politicians
The politician said
'I love my job
chaos and parties political
are my life blood.
I squeeze dollars from the law
by threatening one side
with my new law
and get them to pay to dropp it
and then I go to the other side
and get them to pay me
to pass
it through.
Having now
money from both sides
I sanctimoniously
declare
that each side must learn to compromise.

Love's Touch
Love's blind touch gropes in our dark
and I hear you giggle
reveling in the hide and seek
in your cape of satin sheets
the lights out
pitch black
the only sound
is of stealthy breathing
which first lurks
and then leaps
straight onto my back
I shriek the shriek
and you the vampire bat
clutch my trembling neck

Anvil-Stamped in the Office
I careen between the iron cross
caring and need
and you play midnight cello moaning tones
from it emit your voices.
I sit in the executive chair
in corporate blue
my bow string
drawing intensities
from nebulae
from which my star was born;
it exploding
willingly
because it senses
your desires
circling
in Maypole Spring's Dancings.
Sometimes
all is in the yearning

Mother Said
There is no, ' she said
'no preparation for the penetration;
the shock of it
takes my breath
at each incidence
and only child birth
compares to it.'
That is what my mother said to me
one evening while knitting.
'It is always my dear the 'dangerous ending of love and petting'
because at some point it occurs.'
I found myself wound up with anticipation and some small dread.
'It is the lot, ' she said 'of we of the female persuasion.
We seek the feel of it like the cold dip in the ice pond
after the sauna.
