Sky Blue
You have a blue sky mouth
my cloud breath savors it
settling deep into your ocean lungs
to feel it rising up and up like tiny boats
and float directly into my red hot furnace mouth.
I can feel your flowers bloom
seconds after I had planted them
deep into my loam.
You are the river running
down to my ocean deep
again
and
again.
My Earth
smiles
and I sip
sweetly of your
juices

Iris Brown
Such a gleaming;
crystal tumbling;
silhouetted in his
brown tearful eye;
cascading through
emotional light
where his iris there resides.
My heart stops
sensing joy
in that Silver Tear
'Yes I love you'
springs forth from my Deep Well
to my own voice adhered.
He now blinks
his swollen eye
and that tear
falls, falls
to Joys' Plateau.

Perfect Blame
If I write the perfect poem
then my creation
mocks me
because it is perfect
and I know I am not.
The imperfect poem
is better for me
yet perfection
haunts
and I continue to strive
for its outlines
even as I concede
imperfection's continence
is more like me.
It may be I have to concede
that I and all of us are perfect
as we are inside
but once perfection moves outside my skin
the world taints it
with its imperfections

The Twenties
I have laid down with joy and laughter;
I have wallowed in pity;
kissed evil
and ran away
from what loved me;
ran away from what I loved;
hid from
my own inner truths;
forgotten
too many bad times
and late night
mistakes.
.
My tears
fill
oceans
without names
and I've groveled
on linoleum floors;

Butter Fly Wings
Butter Fly wings
float near my face
and this softest breeze
reminds me of the way
your lips brush mine,
not touching
but close-by
fluttering;
.
gentle usherings
planting butter-fly kisses
on your red mouth
pursed
in the filtered sun.
Butter me,
Butter Fly me

Long Since
Long since
these hands
have bent
North or South.
They lie
by my side
in repose
awaiting a
single kiss
to lighten them
for holding.
Long Since
this heart stirred
to life
enlivened by
a Coming You.
These legs

Lying Eyes
It could be that
the Thunder in your eyes
will not reach out and
strike my Heart Full Force.
It could be that
your words will not
wash me away
to an ocean already
full of tears.
Maybe I will not
fall down
this deep well
in my soul;
maybe not;
but I don't think so.

Hope in the Wheelbarrow
I've carried hope in a wish basket;
tossed coins in the wishing well;
and placed my dreams on doily-lined platters of expectations.
I have never abandoned hope to cynicism
nor have I seen devotion fade in my rear view mirror.
I done all these things
because I cannott
stall in forward motion
become vague inside myself
lost to time,
to my own direction,
All this is not nice.
There is no choice for me
but to hold hope close
and wheel barrel
on

Lust's Needs
Who lies in deepest cave
vampire like twisted away from outside sun-swept light
longing for death
blood and love
sucked from marrow's neck?
How deep is Swooning's Need
to suck teeth
from vampire lips
expediting sexual egress
to have all in Swain's Grip;
immortalitites death
love's lust and blood
punctured thus
this must be
life to greet

Thorn-less Roses
You strip the thorns from all my roses;
they preen themselves
in the Soul Dust
from your eyes.
The brook in my heart
plumbs your depths
rush down
the waterfall
to swirling
rapids below,
tracing the path
to our
Spiritual Sea;
settling there
in the peace
Thorn-Less Roses bring.
There among the sediments
layered over these years
