Grandma Rising
She's now gone home,
smile lighting up the clouds as she went I'm sure;
over-weight, in her double wide on wheels
hundreds of mourners
all in white
Louisiana style
singing
'Oh where joy abounds.'
she wanted it that way.
They didn't put her in the hearse at first
they just rolled her through the our street
and through the neighborhood
so any and all could pay their respects
besides most didn't have cars for the funeral ride
they just opened their windows and waved her on
'Bye Lulu. God's gonna get a good one back.'
Strong as the wind, she fed the relatives every Sunday;

Mind Maps Notwithstanding
Her map of the world is different than mine
there is no north south east or west
everything is centered in Middle-Earth
and all things had some similar priority.
I looked at it with her and she said
'In the center of my world are five things
all of the same priority, the kids,
my friends, my parents, my things,
our pets, and of course,
you my love.
She had gathered them all in the center of the map table
cosied up.
My map was completely different.
Mine was hierarchical.
At the top was my job.
And one ladder rung down was sex

In The Healing Night
She didn't really look at me
those silver eyes flash
and can blind
mirage you
and make you confused.
In the long night
my mind reconstructs the day
often then
vacationing
from the days reality
thereby offering myself comforting
from the betrayed, the rejected
the scorned and the unloved reality
of one who nonetheless
lingers inside my Emotions Shadow
half-face peering
behind doors
inside peep holes
wondering if in the glancing

I Am Acquifer
I am the Aquifer
in the deep gorge.
I'm rain.
I was water for the many herds
who drank from me.
I'm shelter from the deluge;
treasure house of oxygen
and minerals
which seep
into my rooms
in deep soils replenishing.
I'm life's ecology.
The water source
of all chemistry
and you are my children.
Hear my sad tears.

Time
I've had Time sweep me up
sequester me away
to stillness consummate.
I've had Time punish me
in slogging eons of instants unnamed.
She has often sat with me
my only friend
soothing my brow
telling me
that She will make things right
in her Time.
She swept up my kids
so soon from infants
through toddler-hood
to children grown
who wrapped up in their own time
could not remember the way home

z-All Things
I came upon a man
who had long strips
of human heart
and he was
sewing then back together
piece by piece.
Close by
his friend
was collecting tears in bottles
and each tear was being filtered
to be hurt-free.
Others there
were working with Betrayal Notes
and Dear John missives
re-writing them
to reduce the pain.
Self Flagellaters

The Coupler
They came each
to the Coupler
to seek
their Hearts Desire-
the one thing
they wanted most-
and he took their presentation
and coupled it
with what they’d need
to succeed in their Primary Wish.
She wanted True Love;
he gave her Devotion
to couple with it
because without Devotion
True Love can be short and quick;
done with.
He wanted Riches beyond compare
and he was given

Stony Silence
In this cacophony which is modernity
individuality is the first casualty
where single soul's are rendered soundless
where those who shout the loudest
get attention, even though albeit
so much of suckcess is undeserved;
where pandering to sensationalism
to sell things to the silenced hordes
who sit couch-ward
yearning that they too can grab a megaphone
and yell, I am alive; I count;
but counting these days is being on television
being noticed
if not they all settle
for face book
and twittering
at least this is being known to those close to them each telling the other
they matter
but the aching gnarl
persists among us mass media-ed

The Golden Horse
She rolled up her Faith
in me
each night
using it for her soft pillow.
She had the Love We Shared
in a locket around her neck.
Her covers were her Blanket
of Hopes and Dreams,
and I told her stories
of knights,
castles
and her favorites-
of the Golden Horse
and Pedro
-Two Musketeers.
'The Golden Horse
and Pedro' I said

Cloaks Of 23
I want you
but I know you
suspect this already
taking bites of it like
a ripe delicious apple
with those perfect teeth
looking at me
through the bedroom eyes
of nonchalant youth
feasting on admiration
and attention
from us over thirties
who crave in you
our last grasp at the youth
which was once ours;
now consoling ourselves
with work, money or security,
thinking just maybe
you'd swap the latters
for the true love of the
