A Song for the Sun

I love you, glorious Sun!
Oh, glorious yellow Sun!
Woe be me that I can’t fly,
That I may be with you
On your bed of bright blue sky.

I long for you, wondrous Sun!
Oh, wondrous jaunty Sun!
Doleful so is the leaden day,
When gray clouds outdo you
And from me take you away.

Some Woman

I'd like to say that I do not care
That lately you've been insensitive
I am, after all, my own woman
By myself, all alone, I can live

I'd like to say that I do not feel
The dying fire that was once so alive
I am, after all, a strong woman
I don't need anyone to survive

I'd like to say that I do not cry
Whenever you turn cold and distant
I am, after all, a grown woman
To crumble o'er a man, I'm not wont

But I am, after all, a woman
And even though I really do try
This time I would just have to cave in
Because I do care, I do feel, I do cry
