there's a palm
waving by my face
i know what it is
a warning sign
where i'm going
resting my mind
listening my thoughts
i could be indifferent
but within control
tomorrow i'll roll back
writing my songs

but notice
those two twins

sensing her way
looking so hungry
feathered friends
would be a threat

two parallel roads
sandwich by pines
long can't see end
golf balls astray
lying on needles
same in deep pond

house by riverbank
candle lit windows
veranda, both sides
love overlooking green
at water edge of pain
swirling; lofting wind

i see hawk circling
looking at my ball
could be egg for her
shiny dimples weird
for her to stay longer
flew to big tree vanish

i know she will come
when weather is good
time for her to get food
she lives somewhere
around golf course
between lake and sea

there were sad days
i stare at ceiling
thinking to be better
only to burst laughing
can't be too serious
when you're so free

there's lots i love
new wide-screen laptop
short trip to my island
nike golf-bag and putter
i believe all of us do

Babysitting

carnival been here
before steam engine
middle of town or hood
where sugar candy
balloons, refreshment
are concession assets

watching ferry's wheel
from doughnut stand
kids are having fun
screaming raising hands
as it loops round and round
getting ready for pit stop

he speaks in allegory
to eyes of common man
listening for wisdom
soothing to old ears
boring to new shoots
preferred rap culture

speech is short barely
finish my half-dessert
i could sum it up clear
'go love your neighbors'
everybody of us does that
when did you say 'hello! '

clouds sap my energy
looking trying to comfort
fleeting voices in sky
i should visit my pillow
early to re-arrange
these feathers mulching

i end up watching bulls
manhandled by hawks
where is mike, yes mike
he is playing golf now
people change with time
you might be left behind
