040310f Would You Be Like My Golfballs
stinging on my toes
i know i must be sitting
here for so long or i'm not
doing it properly, pinching
nerves; that's what they say
i'll walk a few steps; i'm okay
my golf balls are gathering
in the corner as if converging
conspiring to go against me
but so far nobody attempted
to jump and hit me on the head
although i putt them so often
after i'm done i get clean-wipe
they could feel my warm hand
watch me so happy hitting a cup
after that i leave them alone
is your love life close enough to that
minimum attention but never thrown out

031010 Food Power
i reach the bottom of fish tank
to touch the bottom dweller
stuck to a rock like suction cup
she let me caress her as if she
know me, she's grown a bit
since i bought her at pet shop
this black big head fish i love
she doesn't move that much
i watch her gills close and open
she is always watching me
sometimes i saw her swim
just to get away from other fish
i used to tap the fish tank cover
before feeding them, amazing
every time i tap, they surface
how's that for teaching a fish
food is really powerful thing
just me i can't stop eating

032610d Some Does, Some Don't
my nightlight blinks
light-bulb could be
a suspect or brown out
if it does it thrice, a sign
to break out candles
for night troubles
i notice a picture, a peacock
charming flowering cherry tree
he isn't looking at the blooms
perching ready flew out the room
why birds males are so beautiful
very romantic and very colorful
tinge of chuckle flutterring my lips
female birds must be very rare
they are free to roam to have affair
must be the rule of the wild, thought
maybe not, my geese doesn't do that
they walk in pairs, laugh and also chat

Boxer From Far East (philippines)
big time guys from island came to town
singing “london bridge is falling down”
it was so quick it only lasted two rounds
add one more to his collection of crowns
i look around the ring pinoys neighborhood
with smile, “i thought we are poor, i was told”
i was wrong, yes, it’s just me, i can’t afford
but whatever it is, outcome is ”i feel so good”
even though” i’m not a big fan of boxing”
somewhere within me is really rejoicing
being part of that unique culture from east
where for sometime created “one of the best”

041611D mom at shoe store
at shoe store she fits me
with two sizes over; it flops
and she would calmly ask
'does it fits you right sonny? '
'no mom, i feel like a duck'
'don't worry you'll outgrow it'
she's looking at colors i know
it's not brand name of a shoe
she's very particular on soles
one that won't leave black marks
she keeps floor speck and span
i will leave my shoes by entrance

my mother as a reminder to mom's

031210 A Set And A Round
i meet this guy today
for so many years
we used to fish the bay
we drape the sea with nets
caught from flounder to snake
night time when all were asleep
he is visiting from florida
to take care his grands in area
i was surprise he hadn't age bit
i was told fishing is the secret
oh! would i have to buy gill net
to trap those fish as they fled
what will i do with fish, give away
yes, just what we do previously
i have done my fishing journeys
i shifted to playing golf and tennis
few dollars i could buy few pounds
and i could play a set and a round

042211V Discovering Below Surface
opening your eyes underwater
something wonderful you should
if you have goggles, great to see
curious fish come to greet you
deeper areas maybe bigger ones
get a buddy to swim with plus spear
waist deep, shells; small fish paradise
i watch an open clam spit debris, sand
colorful fins darting past my eyepiece
moss covered rocks, beneath my feet
i am a visitor to their domain, i respect
leave them where they are for somebody

041611C riding with mom
when we ride a bus i would
sit on her lap so i won't pay
i smile to all passengers
make faces, talk to her most
'are we there yet mom? '
'stand up my legs is tired'
sometimes i played with her hat
i'm trying to dismantle to pieces
her eyes enlarge like grapefruit
she doesn't say a word but 'shss'
i'm dizzy by looking at passing trees
i keep my face straight to windshield

041710i Feathered Stowaways
we have our eyes following the rescue boat
circling the mother ship then pick up by a lift
we went back to where we are doing our task
some sit around waiting for things to happened
some prepare food for three thousands aboard
some keep us cruising, safe, and comfortably afloat
i notice doves flying around the hangar bay
five of them, they fly out then come to play
they love going against the draft, then dive in
they might have food stash somewhere overhead
i’ve seen doves on the other ships do the same
when we get in port, fly out and never be seen

040710b Small Dot Under The Sun
it wasn't raining but i have my umbrella
when was the last time you shield yourself
from heat onslaught of the sun, never did
i haven't seen any on this part of the globe
besides those walking in fairways playing golf
i'm sure if i start doing it then people would follow
tomorrow i'll bring mine to walk from parking lot
let's how's these macho people react to that
probably look at me like alien from other planet
i don't mind i would be free from effects of heat
that's a bit of asian fad in western civilization
i'll be a black dot shading from laughing sun
