Night and Fog

Night and fog descend
About those peaceful eyes
Mind clouded, visage hidden
In merciless blindness
Be gone that feigned piety
And make that hating smoke
It billows towards the sky
And proclaims humanity
Corrupted air in which
He draws frustrated breaths
Made tasteless by empowerment
In ghoulish dreams
And wicked worlds
Where night and fog descend

Showering

Drowned in darkness, designed isolation
Icy knives assault my back
Descending to the iron floor
With a gentle pitter-pat
Where like soldier ants they march
Towards some home-called, destined hole
Bearing up upon their backs
Discarded filfth and aged happiness
Purged of being and
Such existence drained
A man stands taller
To face the same assaults
So that he might drown himself again

Of a world gone whizzing by
The wheels themselves
Can't hope to sway
They're guided by
The iron way
Choiceless, rolling through the foggy rot
Running where they won't dare not
Until bereft
Of locomotion
