It seems like a nightmare because the world is in
So much pain
You can read about it in the newspaper as you
Bow your head in shame
The demise of our children is multiplying everyday
Some are raped or murdered at home
Or while they play
Their hearts beat like a drum as they live in
So much fear
God made them to be a Blessing but their drowning
In their own tears
How often have you heard about a child that
Has been neglected
Now they are killing each other on the grounds

Last night I heard America cry and it was the sound
Of women birthing chi ldren into a soci ety that is
Filled with despai r and their tears fell from
Heaven like rain and flooded everywhere
Last night I heard America cry and I felt it down
In my soul because millions of people are dying
while AIDS is out of control
Last night I heard America cry and it was on the
Nightl y news they talked about missing children
Some murder ed and some abused
Last night I heard America cry because her sol diers are
Dying each day and families are losing love ones
To a war that doesn 't pay
