Barack Obama!

Victory is ours,
Dark hair, Brown Skinned six one and a half feet tall,
The 44th President of America stood before us all,
With the words of hope and aspiration
Assuring us that 'America is still the country
of which all things are possible'
Many said it was impossible who didn't have a doubt,
Out of the land of Kenya and Hawaii our leader would sprout,
From a dream within a dream came Hope and Change,
The restoration of unity and strength and the name,
The name AMERICA,
For we are all one, One nation under God, indivisible,
No matter what origin, gender or race,
Barack Obama, a figure of perseverance and faith,
Even when the stars dimmed he still walked his pace,
A true leader indeed,
For through his courage and ambition,
I dream beyond the stars,
Victory is ours,
A true leader indeed,

Faith and Hope- The true pursuit of happiness!

When stars dim up in the sky
When things seem so hard to try
When raging sea billows roll
When all seems bad and all seems cold
When giving up seems to become your goal
When stale bread is the only meal
When all options fail and there's more with to deal
Faith and Hope can make your wounds heal
Faith is the belief that it would happen
Hope is the feeling that makes it happen
When Hope is lost
It can be found
When all seems gone to the ground
Hope can still germinate this time around
And fill your heart with something special
A special feeling that someday it will get better
And guess what
No true believer has disproved this law
Things will get better when you work hard enough
When the going is tough

Education: Key to the future!

They say the Word is mightier than the S-word,
So i slice thru the minds of many,
A deadly weapon so i don't use many,
but there is plenty where it came from,
The mind of an educated young fella,
Educated by politics of the world and leaders like Fela,
Proud of my roots like the young pioneers by Kwame Nkrumah,
True ma Roots grew out of struggles so it made me wiser,
and that being darker doesn't make you lesser,
Though it's deeper, the more u fall into the darkness,
The harder for the perceiver, to be perceived as believed
to be a stereotype way before I was conceived in the womb,
of a country that considers my kind as booty-scratchers,
But it don't weigh me down, still walk head high as if i had a crown,
And I do,
Graduated out of high school that they never thought i'd do,
Like Du Bois said, 'Believe in life! Always human beings will live and progress to greater, broader, and fuller life'
So I strive through the strife of life,
Straight heading like i saw a back cracker,
But at ma back i see the struggles of ma catch backwards,
