Endless Skies

I've been to the edge of the earth
Haven't we all? Heaven's what it's called

That old sacred place of our birth
No clouds were above me
Nor land was beneath me.
The winds were an unknown crowd

But the tides were my carpet
and the oceans my tiles

The stars glistened above me
as the sun brushed the sea
and the lies of this life regressed beneath the waves

The ocean swells separated my heart, body and soul
And only my heart was left alone
To tell of an untold toll.

The day turned to nigh'

Lamp

You feed me oil and I continue to burn bright
You blow me out, and choose to taste the night

You stumble your way across my path
And if the winds lug me to the ground, you will feel my wrath.

When the darkness encloses all around you.
When your feet are tired of treading through rain, sleet and snow,
Out from the shadows, I emerge, a bright amber glow.

I've led many explorers, to many a distant shore
Been the center of your christmas decor
I've even brought you from the depths
Of unforgiving friends and shame
One thing that never wavers is my flame

I light up your evening
And warm you while you're dreaming
Many a romantic brunches and fine dines have I been invited to
And sat next to the finest of red wine.

Our Love

I love you and you love me.
I will always do and you have always too.
There is nothing more everlasting
Nothing more deep
Nothing more dreamy
Your lips, nothing as enticing
Your kiss, none nearly as generous

Our love, you and I,
Nothing more honest
None half as pleasant
Nothing half as memorable
Nothing as deeply profound

Nothing more passionate
None in the universe as affectionate
Nothing more unconditional
Nothing more correct in my eyes
For me, none more perfect
Than you

Survival

Head first, I bowled into a brick well
My lungs ruptured as I plummeted beneath my own wake
I had been digging a grave, now my personal cell
I cant make it out on my own, this is hell.

The waters rose above me but I have not died
Somewhere far above, I hear my name
Forgotten by my loved ones and cast aside
They left me here and I weeped and cried

I do not love them
I cannot say I do
They threw me away, their pride, their gem
The pain got to my nervous system

My memory faded in and out of the cold night
My friends and family faces now blurs of blacks and white
Any hope of recovery now clearly out of sight
Up in a peep hole, a beacon of light

Life Waters

What is this meaning that i have been hearing
The meaning of life in its wonders
The sea bubbles over
There seems to be no end
But the hopes of the many will always rise up forever

What is one man
When all of the world
great in its diversity and mass is but a small portion
of a greater plan

I've viewed nature in all of its beauty
None greater than the hibiscus
It does not waver like the great palm
But in one tree, can have a million different shades
Like a young child who's innocence is taken, many different lie within

It seems to me
The bigger the dream
The faster its sold

Recovery

The injured eagle soars on an alabaster wing
The wounded humpback does not sing
The choir of summer birds have ceased to resound.
And the sinister forces have finally won.

The pointless laughter of children is not present
But in their place, the brazen wailing of my heart, in torment.
I can feel this and look onward
Toward the great heights

I'm not in hell nor alone
Whilst my ego, engraves my tombstone.
Such bitter despair
My heart is torn in two

The woman I loved was torn from me
And took with her a chunk of me
My smile lives on only in my head
I have joy but it is deeply disguised
