My Tribute To Bacon (Bacon the food)

Why does almost everyone like smoky bacon?
It tastes too good be not mistaken, the best thing to eat is great bacon.
They say even vegans like to eat bacon.
Have you heard they've even got chocolate covered bacon!
There is a donut with maple and bacon.
So, ode to pigs who give us great bacon.
And hooray to all who love great smoky bacon.

Ode To the Song; Ribbon in the Sky

There is a ribbon in the sky.
That ribbon in the sky sure can fly.
The stars and moon can be seen from up above.
Don’t you know there is always God’s love.
Has there been a song written about a ribbon in the sky?
An answer to that question is yes, I can not tell a lie.
The them of the song was about a love that goes on an on.
‘Ribbon in the Sky’ is the name of a Stevie Wonder song.

Of Evil Defined

An old Russian proverb that states: 'There can be no good without evil'.
All the world today is in an upheaval.
Let’s prevail to overcome all evil.
We all know there’s always a battle between good and evil.
For what is evil defined; One with a twisted mind.
And we all know that evil is in the back of everyone’s mind.
Always seeing evil can make us blind.
It can even make you loose your mind.
Just remember this proverb of mine: Good can prevail from all of mankind.

I Love Chocolate

I love chocolate, oh yes I do.
Eating chocolate is a must too.
I love chocolate, how about you?
They say dark chocolate is now good for you too.
I would eat chocolate while watching Mr. Magoo.
I would eat chocolate instead of dodo.
I like a good chocolate candy bar.
I would even eat chocolate from a jar.
I want to eat chocolate all day long.
Eating too much chocolate may be wrong.
They need to write about chocolate in a song.
Some people eat chocolate just to belong.
I would even eat chocolate in my Froot Loops
I would even eat chocolate with a big group.

Red Rover, Red Rover

Red Rover, Red Rover, send Missy on over.
I hear the cries on the playground of my childhood, but many years ago my childhood was over.
Red Rover, Red Rover send age to make me older.
I feel with age that wisdom makes me sober.
I hear the orders of youth recalling.
I'm falling and falling into the abyss and stalling.
As I hear the cries of childhood.
Let it be always understood.
Red Rover, Red Rover send death away forever more.
But alas as a line in a song once asked; What is forever for?
I do not know the answer moreover.
So, Red Rover, Red Rover this poem is now over!

Ode To A Robert Frost Poem

I thought I took the road less taken.
But I guess I was mistaken.
When the two paths diverged in the woods; I pondered at which path I must take.
I took the path to my left in the woods; Was it the right path to take?
It was not, but I digress.
Why must I deal will all this stress?
As I sit and try to recall all of the words from the poem Frost once wrote, I must emote.
This ode to that grand old poem that Frost once wrote.
The name of that Robert Frost poem is 'The Rode Not Taken'.
As I write this ode to a Robert Frost's poem, the words he wrote be not mistaken.
I thought I took the path less taken.
I will now end this ode to go eat some bacon.

A Well Crafted Word

Why am I so philosophical, a philosopher a long time ago once wrote.
The song writer, script writer, poet and novelist like to use a great quote.
Some poems are written with a catchy rhyme and a theme.
A well crafted word can help and be a great writers dream.
Everyone knows that the pen is mightier than the sword.
A well crafted word can give the reader great reward.
'A metaphor is just like a simile'; An unknown author once quoted.
It's true about all writers I know, they all hate their words being misquoted.
To writers one and all, a well crafted word is always a must to write down.
Just remember this about all writers, they can make great use of a pronoun.

Why Did Death Take You Away?

This year marked the anniversary of your death.
When you first died I couldn't take a breath.
I can't believe you've been gone so long.
It's sad you died at twenty-nine, you were wronged.
I know death is part of life's grand design.
We mourned your death for oh so long, we still morn to this day, but we're resigned.
Death is part of lives great design.
Many think death is divine or of God's design.
So, even though death took you away.
Our love for you is always here to stay.
I still ask; Why did death take you away?
Maybe the answer to that question will never go away.

*This poem is a tribute to my little sister, Tchinina. She died on May 2,2003 at the age of 29.

Thoughts On The Sounds of Silence

The sounds of silence beacons me.
Like the flight of a bumble bee.
For my life is in a quandary. And I am the one who is confused.
All the noise I here has me transfused.
The constant noise is like a cancerous ooze, someone mused.
All this noise has everyone confused.
I pray to God above to bestow me with the sounds of silence.
All human life is in the balance.
With the sounds of silence I believe peace surrounds us.
About this subject I must confess, I need to access.
I must admit that the sounds of silence is for me.
On the sounds of silence many of us do agree
That peace and love needs to be in great balance.
Without the sounds of silence there would be a major imbalance.

A Temptation For Us All

I reached for you without any hesitation and I must reminisce.
You tempted me with your promise of sweet unadulterated bliss.
This temptation sometimes can not be controlled, almost everyone can relate.
This temptation I write of can strike most of us from nine to ninety, so do not hate.
This temptation I write about is the magical food we call chocolate, and it's a great sensation.
Chocolate comes in an array of sizes, colors and flavors, to my great frustration.
There is milk, Swiss, dark, white, and a vast array of other flavors of chocolate for us all to try.
On this temptation I can not lie, but if I don't get any chocolate soon I feel like I might just die.
There is even chocolate covered bacon to my fascination.
Oh chocolate, you lure me with the greatest temptation.
