To Believe or Not to Believe

Suppose I juxtapose two subjects
That normally contradict -
Faith & fate: now which would you,
Given a choice, incline to pick?

Well then we'd know your worldview,
Your basic mind and bent.
But you, clever lad, would no doubt add,
Your own effort, your life to fix.

And, what the hell, no doubt you'll tell
It's your choice, your own free will.
Indeed it is, choose wisely then;
Your fate is in your hands.
