Growing Old Together
To be like them who all would envy
To know a love that snared two hearts
To feel that love while in their presence
To wonder how such true love starts
To hear it in in their conversation
To catch it when their voices rise
To see it in her softest gesture
and in the twinkle of his eyes
To see them slowly walk together
To see him reach out for her hand
A habit born from years of caring
Is more than most can understand
To see two lives so wrapped together
Two hearts merged and so aligned
Where thoughts are shared before they're spoken
When mind and soul are intertwined

The Imperfections Of Me
I'm an unfinished product
A work that's in progress
Though I no longer call myself young
I'm flawed and I'm broken
I'm a promise unspoken
and a song that may never be sung
Though I'm dumb and I'm blind
I'll not be definded
By what I dont hear or can't see
I gladly will take
each days small mistake
and love the imperfections of me
I've spurned some romances
missed risks, ignored chances
I've letters that will never be sent.
There are regrets and there's sorrow
and perhaps my tomorrow
may be another day that I've mispent.

Perspective
I wanted to sing a song of praise, so I sat down and wrote,
a song that glorified my Christ in every word and note.
I spent so much time in word and rhyme, that I almost got in wrong...
I almost lost my Savior in the song.
I wanted to build a place to pray, where Christian souls could meet,
a church filled with the Spirits touch, a sweet, solemn retreat.
I planned so much and worked so hard in every brick I stacked,
I somehow lost my joy within the act.
I wanted to share the redeemers love and preach salvations plan,
to let a lost and sinful world know that Jesus died for man.
I placed myself above those sins, and to myself I lied,
and lost the message in my foolish pride
I want to give my heart to God, to step out on the limb.
To put my sinful pride aside and define myself through Him.
Why is it so hard to truly let my Savior take control?
To live for Him with Heart...and Mind...and Soul.

I Bled For You
You may not understand why I would leave my family,
to fight in some exotic land, somewhere beyond the sea.
You may not comprehend just why I would do the things I do,
But today I fought for what was right…today I bled for you.
Some call me a hero, but few call me by name
I don't do it for the money and it sure aint for the fame.
I've seen the tree of liberty, and when the day is through,
I can say it was watered with my blood…that day I bled for you.
We soldiers serve with honor, like all those that served before.
Who stood upon the wall and kept the wolves from your front door.
Some sacrificed completely; give them the respect they're due.
Remember that they gave it all, the day they bled for you.
There are some that are not able, or don't want to understand,
Why we risk our very lives to defend this sacred, holy land.
They'll never feel the pride inside when we see red white and blue,
Waving over these free lands, because someone bled for you.

I'll be there
God will send an angel at the moment he designed
To tell me that my time has come to leave this world behind
I know I'll glance behind me as I climb that golden stair
For I love you all so deeply. Please know….I'll still be there.
I'll be there in the little things that make it all worthwhile
And I'll be there in the passing thought that makes my daughter smile
In all those times she'll talk of me and wipe away a tear
That's when she'll feel my presence…Oh you know that I'll be there
I'll be there in my son's sweet laugh as he fondly thinks of me
And in the stories that he tells, in each sweet memory
I'll be there when he pauses to remember me in prayer
He'll feel a kindred presence then…and know that I've been there.
I'll be there as my grandsons grow; I'll be there every day.
I'll be their guardian angel, watching over them as they play
When they graduate and marry, promise me you'll save a chair
Though you think that it sits empty, oh…I promise I'll be there.
