Poem: 'Self-Abandonment

- 9. May.2006 -

The kids at school were mean to her
They called her nasty names
The kids at school abandoned her
Left her out of all their games
The kids at school hurt her badly
With each word that cruelly spoke
The kids at school were so unloving
As they slowly stole her hope
The kids at school were never kind
They put her through unspeakable hell
The kids at school gave up on her
So she gave up on herself…

Lead: (Guitar)

Intro: (Unwritten)

Verses 1-3:

Blue Skies
Hazy days
Sometimes you pray for sunshine
When it rains

I thought that you were to
Good to be true
Then I found out complicated
Was an understatement for you

You could call it love

Poem: 'Playtime Slayer

- 6. May.2006 -

Unsuspecting children play, nothing seems amiss
They are jumping, they are running, they’re just ‘being kids’
Unsuspecting children play, unnoticing this little girl
She is crying, she is dying, carrying the weight of the world
Unsuspecting children play, laughing to themselves
They are so unknowing of this little girls living hell
Unsuspecting children play, having so much fun
This girl is used to being bullied, but she’s not the only one
Unsuspecting children play, unknowing of this pain
They don’t even see this girl… they don’t let her join their game
Unsuspecting children play, as a young girls life falls apart
They don’t even suspect; this little girl ‘self-harms’

Poem: 'Solitary Soldier

- 9. May.2006 -

Rapid shots fired straight for the heart
I can see they slowly rip him apart
Though he holds his head high, covering all of his fears
The loud, booming sounds resonate in his ears
He stands as high as he can hold himself
But it’s obvious he’s scared
He’s fighting for the world he knows,
But no one even knows he’s there.
If you looked into his empty eyes
You’d see remnants of all the tears he’s cried
When no one ever saw.
This true hero, this solitary soldier
The world owes him so much more
This true hero is not the one who goes off to war,
The one who stands proud and tall
His bravery doesn’t even come with reward
No, because his battle never ends…
This true hero is the bullied child,

Poem: 'A Simple Note

-11. Feb.2006 -
** This poem is about the seriousness of illness such as depression and the event of suicide. It's about the underlying pain that is left in a suicide note, moreso than simply the words that are written.

A tortured soul,
Saying goodbye to the world it loves no more
A simple girl
No more does this life mean anything to her
It’s death she found she’d much prefer
A heart that forever aches
Just wishing for that sweet escape –
That comes with not seeing the car –
Speeding past
That comes from the stolen breath
That forever sighs –
Emptiness
Some simple words
Simply written full of hurt
Full of pain, agony prolonged

Poem: 'Journey of Life

- 27. June.2006 -

Feet pattering slowly, she walks a long and dusty road
Pondering that provoking thought ‘Where do I want my life to go’
She fears the change that sadly she knows must come
So terrified of that ending day, the day when her schooling days are done

Life passes her by as slowly she continues on her walk.
A week to graduation day, but she’s still pondering that thought
‘Where do I want my life to go’ and then what happens next?
I’ve conditioned myself to think like this, what happens when it ends

Now she’s standing there on graduation day
Crying as through her speech she tries to say
I don’t know where my life will go, or what happens when this ends
I don’t know what happens now, or if I’ll keep in touch with friends
