Power To Bond

Far beyond echoes a name
Reporting its presence in game
About the power of recognition that came
Under the right that a name cant be lame

casting glances in those families beyond
Ascertains a power to bond
Rendering that carpet of unity
Of brotherhood and purity
Leaving away the dirt of tribalism
Intoning the power of optimism
Never again to judge a name
Ending or starting with a letter that is not the same.

My Blacck Woman

Her hair is like the softest silk,
Her eyes are of deep ebony brown,
Yet her smile melts my inner soul,
She is my Black Woman!

The thick lips she posses are so pleasing;
Her touch is that of a goddess,
Her beauty is beautiful as diamond,
My Black Woman, also My Queen.

Though no one is truly perfect,
But in my eyes she is so fine,
My Black Woman everlasting….

For me there can be only her,
To stand by my side threw thick and thin,
Comfort me when I fail
To help me get back on my feet,
To believe in me when others doubt me,
She’s merely being herself….

Where's Love Found?

I thought this is love,
This sweet thing I have,
I thought this love is love,
And whom I love has love,
Until my love spoke love,
And said though I love,
My love meets no love;
So I beseech of thee:
Tell me the haven,
Tell me the den,
Where love is found -
The abode of love,
Better than this I have,
Better than this I love.

I believed my love is love,
A sweet love worthy of love,
This love for my only love,
For the lovely one I love,
Would meet passionate love,

In Gratitude to My Destiny

had always toyed with
this idea we call destiny
is it some pre-programmed stuff?
is it scripted by me?
i could never decide
whenever i felt myself
an agent of some force
i became a mere toy
in the hands of destiny that
turned me into a mere spectator and
whenever the agent took back seat
i became a proud architect
of my destiny struttering around in glory
but
...still at times
when i no longer have
the nerve to take
just another wink
i wonder what it would be
if you were with me

Recurring History

.The differences amongst nations
in culture, habit and language.
the difference between leader..
This is God’s creations
to punish we antagonistic humans.

The consequences if we are egocentric,
with rifles shooting, stoones throwing and atoms finally bombing.
Children whining for dad and women panic,
and men with wounds thinking of home...if not their beloved tribes

The merciless slaughter of bows and arrows,
pistols and guns, grenades and missiles.
“Victory” alleged the colonels,
was the election stollen? they think!
whilst innocences wailing and dying.

Peace, and power at the same time
leaders seemingly strive to maintain.
Militaristic they are, no one deny.

The Hero Of Heroes

Let others write of battles fought,
Of bloody' ghastly fields,
Where honor greets the man who wins,
And death the man who yields;
But I will of him who fights
And vanquishes his sins,
Who struggles on through weary years
Against himself, and wins.

He is a hero staunch and brave
Who fights an unseen foe,
And puts at last beneath his feet
His passions base and low;
Who stands erect in manhood's might,
Undaunted, undismayed, -
The bravest man who drew a sword
In shumble foray or in raid.

It calls for something more than brawn
Or muscle to o'ercome

It's The Africa In Me!

It’s the Africa in me
that loves the forest in which I wake,
that sees and hears its fauna and flora
and revels in their names.

It’s the Africa in me
that you hear in my spirited conversation,
that shakes my shoulders as I sob my sorrows
or laugh my insides, inside-out.

It’s the Africa in me
that keeps me reading poetry deep into the night
and causes me to stroke the sinuous muscles
of my striped, domestic cat
and kiss the muzzle of my gently nickering horse.

It’s the Africa in me
that has taught me how to love
and patches up the fragments of my soul
after each and every disaster

COULD WE BE FRIENDS? [BY Redscar & Moons]

MOONS:
Could I be your FRIEND, my friend?
For ‘Redscar and Moons’ sounds sweet
What I mean do you comprehend?
When things went bad I almost quit.
I long for this; could we try to blend
Now that we share a sweet lit seat?
Could I be your FRIEND, friend?

REDSCAR:
Please be my FRIEND, oh friend!
Behold, my bad I won't repeat;
I'll never act like a dire fiend,
And from candor I won't retreat!
...So I beseech that we blend,
For us to make all that is sweet -
Be my FRIEND, my dear friend!

MOONS:

YOUR MEMORY [by Redscar McOdindo K'Oyuga & Muna Moons Ahmed]

YOUR MEMORY
[by Redscar McOdindo K’Oyuga & Muna Moons Ahmed]

Redscar McOdindo:

I’ve tried to forget your cultures
I’ve taken down all of your pictures
I’ve even changed my manners
And tried to get yet another missus…
I’ve cleaned out all of your drawers
I’ve painted over the scratches
From all our little wars
But it has never been a savory
To erase your memory.

Muna Moons:

I live beyond earthly possessions
I, I am your emotions
We have lost directions
