Mama was my angel

Her touch to me was gentle,
Her voice was soft and mild,
Mama was my angel,
And I her loving child.

Her love for me was pure,
So precious and so dear,
Mama was my angel,
Who washed away each tear.

The gift of life she gave me,
Cared for me like no other,
Mama was my angel,
And a dear and precious Mother.

Her life on earth is now over,
But I still love her as before,
Mama was my angel,
Is now and for evermore.

A Perfect Rose

A Perfect Rose

So deep and pure, the one I chose
From this earthly garden. a perfect rose,
Fragile, yet it only bends,
In times of rain are days of winds.

Close to my heart, this rose I hold,
Its' beauty to me like solid gold,
A perfect rose that means so much,
That I am thrilled by a single touch.

A perfect rose it has been said,
Is the symbol of love, a long stem red,
No others can or will compete
For my perfect rose so soft and sweet.

My love for the rose, a beauty still,
Has not faded and never will,
This rose I hold, the one I chose,

To Reach a Far Off Shore

I sailed upon the sea of life
In the year Nineteen Hundred and Thirty Four
Bound for places far from home,
And steered a course yet unknown
To reach a far off shore.

My ship was cast on the sea of life
To seek the dreams that all look for.
I sailed a sea of rocking waves and crushing tides,
A sea of calm so vast and wide
To reach that far off shore.

The sea of life has brought me joy,
And sorrows have I felt with pain
Sailed in shadows of the sky,
And the sea of life and I
Have weathered wind and rain.

With crimson skies to the west
I feel the the spray and ocean spill

The Joy of Christmas

IN the wee small hours of Christmas morn,
While parents are in their bed sleeping,
In the dim light of the Christmas Tree,
Two shadowy forms are creeping.

Down the stair and across the room,
Quiet and hushed, anticipating,
Two little ones can barely wait,
To see what surprise is waiting.

Suddenly a burst of joy,
Faces light up with glee,
Wrapped up gifts and lots of toys,
Are there beneath the tree.

Excitement sparkles in sleepy eyes,
Each face is a sheer delight,
The air is magic on Christmas morn,
For Santa came last night.

When I Look Back

When I look back
On the dreams I left behind;
Buried there in all my thoughts
It is you I always find.

I saw you then as I see you now
Through loves impassioned blindness
A heart so fashioned there within
Filled with love and kindness.
How often has my heart declared
With anguish, for my words are few
That the wind shall blow a little longer
To keep me here with you.
Sweeter still are the pains of love,
The bonds of love grow stronger,
Even after the moonlight has gone to sleep
I shall always love you longer.
No other can stir my heart so deep,
Or thrill me through and through,
And in my dreams there will never be

Golden Daffodil's

Oh, what joy my eyes behold
To see such beauty there unfold,
And my heart with pleasure fills
When sun from ebbing winter days
Bring forth the Golden Daffodil's.

Lovely flower, majestic king
Who God awakes in early spring
So cloth'd in all your golden hue
No flower on the garden scene
Is as beautiful as you.

With silent voices and knodding heads
Gayly dancing in swirling beds
Your beauty in the garden spills,
And lifts the lonely hearts of all
Oh, Daffodil's, Oh, Daffodil's.

Dazzling in your sunny place
You fill the garden with poise and grace

Every Person Has An Angel

Every person has an Angel,
Who watch us from above,
They fly down from Heaven,
Whenever we need their love.

Some Angels may be a loved one,
Who has died and passed from earth,
Are maybe your Angel,
Has been with you since birth.

Some Angels stay always with us,
Forever by our side,
They have their wings around us,
To keep us warm inside.

They help us with our burdens,
And help to ease our fears,
They help us through our pain,
And wipe away our tears.

Little Pieces of Innocence

Little Pieces of Innocence
(0n watching my children sleep)

Sweet sleep, little pieces of innocence,
While dreams so serenely fair,
Fill their heads with joyous thoughts,
How gladly do I stand and stare,
Upon the gifts that love has brought.

No darkness spreads her sorrow here,
Sleep on dear children, rest, but know,
Your father watches with such delight,
This moment of truth, and with heart aglow,
And filled with love this night.

Those little pieces of innocence,
So serene, so full of grace,
Sweetest gifts that Heaven imparts,
Fondly shall I long embrace,
The innocence in their hearts.
