the fog
that envelops
the barren tree
hiding
protecting
sheltering
its gloomy existence
highlights
the reality
that our inner self
is hidden
behind nothing
but a mist

It creeps up
Silently, stealthily
Hissing the warning
But I pay no heed
Blinded by the sheer strength
The power
The brute beauty
Of the serpent
The venomous master
The warning goes unnoticed
Naïve and blinded
I invite it in
The serpent
Now victorious
With one final kiss
Seals my fate
The serpent
Now mocking me
As I fall
Into the arms of death

Cascading Sorrows

I look out the window
To see the clouds shed their tears
Painting everything in a gloomy color
As they pound on the earth’s surface
I open the window
To let the cold air brush my hair
It emphasizes my anguish
It highlights my despair
Stop pouring, oh rain
For my emotions
Have been, since long, buried in me
They hide behind a concrete wall
So, let it go, dear clouds
Move on like you normally do
For you will forget this soon
And will only see
The complacent façade

Perpetually Waiting

still like a statue
i stand and watch
watch you walk away from me
your footsteps leading you to a new place
stomping on my love's symphony
my arms still stretched wide
come back to them
that's where you belong
in my embrace
in my heart
my eyes over brimming with hope
the hope of your return
the hope of our reunion
'just turn back once
see what you are leaving behind'
that's my constant prayer
but your footsteps go unfaltered
leading you to your destiny
i wait for the day when you'll realize
it is your destiny
