I Think I'll Have Some Blood

I think if ‘amorous’ had a colour it would be red.
I think if pheromones had a colour it would be red.
I think while red signals attractiveness in other species
It is often ‘Danger’ to us.
They say it’s ‘cos of blood,
That red is as strong as it is.
Externalising of innerness.
Desires some say.
Like bleeding your will.
A river from the wrist,
A valentine heart,
A red-light tart,
And lipstick for kissing.

Although make-up does fool the male visual system,
To levels of oestrogen and fertility.
A lie you could say.
A white lie.
