when she smiles
there is sunshine

Thundering Youth

Thundering Youth/Thundering flower

Like the thundering flower of youth,
and the thundering beauty of a flower

the thundering beauty of youth
and the thundering youth of power

Like the thundering power of truth,

The springtime was a crying flower

drenched in orchid's blood
and revealing all of its power

godblessamen

Summerfades

The summer fades like sunsets

But I still have memories of you at the beach
The royal sun-god burned the images into my mind and memory

The memories are like the 1970s
They are back there, but still here
the beach in my memory fades in the distance

You are there forever,
and I wouldn't have it any other way

Godblessyou amen

My Grandmother

When she would talk about her mother,
it was as though there were another person in the room

She could see her mother in her mind;
It was as if my grandmother was dancing across the kitchen floor

It was as if she were talking about an imaginary person
who was not in the room

Her mother was in her mind

My mother was standing on the kitchen floor, cleaning a glass, and thinking of my grandmother

I could see it through the silence

Like the Flies in Winter

like flies at the end of summer/we all slow down as age advances, as age, time and clocks advance/ the coming ocean of time/like London Bridges, we all fall down

Like flies in winter, near a cold white windowpane, who are slowing like molasses. Cold lonliness on one side/white paint chips on the other

Like flies in winter/flies in autumn, who are swimming throught the air in slow motion.

Not so much the flies of summer

godblessamen

like fireflies flickering in the end/we are here and we are gone,
we eventually burn out.

The Everlasting Snow

Everlasting, the snow is

As the dry crystals
gently twirl and float to the ground

Amid the cracking timbers of winter

A single, beautiful snowflake,
like a crystal tear falling from Heaven,
floats and dances to the ground,
mesmerizingly

....it floats

and floats,

and floats,

....all the way to the ground,
making a dainty footfall in the snow
