Colored By Pain
Purple
Stardust dreams
Of yellow nightmares
Awaken you
To a black reality
Colored by pain.

Convinced
Convinced herself,
She made it known:
That she is smart,
That she is brave,
She's made it through,
Another day.

A Mouse to Man
A mouse
is nothing but
a small
animal of the world.
Tis thus an
insignificant part
of all the world,
no more.
A man
is like
unto a mouse,
for he is nothing but,
a small
animal of the universe.
Tis thus an
insignificant part
of all the universe,
no more.

War Some More
War. And war some more.
War. And war some more.
No one knows,
What it's for,
War. And war some more.
The images seem
To rule the day,
War and Generals,
All the same,
All the answers,
Seem so lame,
All our reason,
Gone insane.
War. And war some more.
War. And war some more.
No one knows,
What it's for,
War. And war some more.

Faces I Remember
There are faces,
I remember.
Like pearls in the sand,
Diamonds among shells.
Faces I remember,
The Great One,
And Bogart,
Elvis and John.
'Everyone dies...'
But you don't miss everyone,
You just miss faces.
Like an old pet,
A first kiss,
A lost love.
I guess we owe them thanks,
I guess we do.
Thanks for the memories,

With My Own Pain
If green, red and yellow
Are the colors of life,
Then why is mine
So black and gray?
As a child,
There was laughter.
Now there are tears.
They slide and roll
Down my face,
Like small muddy pebbles
Down a lonely dark road.
And while tears
Will dry up,
Like dead cotton
In a hot field,
Life can be
So casually cruel
As to murder me

It's a Pack Thing
My puppies may be racist.
The white ones,
Do not sleep with the black one.
But, being the first out,
I'd say it's the black one,
Not sleeping with them.
Dogs see in black and white and grey,
And never notice,
The different shades.
You have to be human, to be racist,
Basing hundreds of years of slavery, murder and hate
On something as meaningless as color.
With puppies,
It’s a pack thing.

Names Upon the Stage
Silently covered,
Names I never heard
Floors I never stood,
The holocaust to feel them die,
Lonely
When they cry.
Imagine ancient quilts,
And scripts upon a page.
A silver meadows shadow,
The names upon the stage.
Good to see remembered,
Tears and Life, the same.
Just to many truths,
For such an insane game.
Imagine all the people,
And scripts upon a page.
The blank parade of faces,

America Lives (Written at age 14)
America lives,
For you and for me,
With all she can give,
On land and on sea.
She has a grand flag of red white and blue,
She has her storms her droughts and her showers
She isn’t very old, in fact she’s quite new,
She’s even one of the world great powers.
We have been in many wars, yes so many,
Yet all through this America thrives,
Then in the end, we can give not a penny,
Yet we fight on and give up our lives.
Our lives that we love so dear, we give,
Just so that our great country,
America,
Can, and does live.
