Signal Sense
on seeing the red
at a signal post
we stop and obey
they way it turns
but, the dos and don'ts
of our parents at home
are often ignored
as useless and rot
life that is not
guided in right sharp tract
is sure to snap
within the first few laps

Beauty Absolute
She is to pass
by this junction at six
After her office,
Worn-out and exhausted
Even if she has overworked
Yet, her basic beauty
Is quite appealing
And is at the crest
In announcement
Of the standing truth
That a thing of beauty
Is joy for ever.

Mutual Compliments
‘The most useless is my wife'
Is the oft-repeated fuss
Widely heard in the mens' circle
And in the same vein, with equal venom
Women too brand their husbands so
When two of them even casually meet
There has to be some truth
In the assertions of both these groups
A common malady - as they marry in undue haste.

Gone With The Rains
GONE WITH THE RAINS
After a spell of heavy rains
there settles, a phase of uneasy calm
excessive waters are draining down
washing its course to a brilliant clean
walking in the middle of the road at this time
a very pleasant experience, you taste it one
‘garam, garam katchori' with a special chai
will lift up your inner reserves - catch it up.

The News from the New Grave
I hate coming round again
to this Earth, on re-birth given again
I hate coming home again
as husband for the same woman again
I hate coming pure again
to lose my values once again
I hate coming live again
as nothing lures me of late, again
I hate coming late again
to be loner in the game again
I hate coming back again
missing the tranquil of this solemn GRAVE again

Sour And Bore
All world is thankless
however good or nice you be
whole near and dear turn heartless
and refuse to stand by thee
Those big brothers are spine-less
in hours of need, hide and flee
my wife is often senseless
her every step measured at a fee
The days ahead are bare and charmless
slow-motion horror and melee
deserted and alone - I am helpless
purpose of life....! all seems funny

Family Planning
FAMILY PLANNING
My wife is
In her family way
And is
likely to deliver
In a week or so
The birth of a
new one may be
a news for you -
but, in its arrival
I run the risk
of a good fortune
hence,
you will lend me

Nighties
My wife is more than forty
But, she prefers to move around
In nighties
Cheap fabric of three month's life
With shabby prints
In gaudy colours
Specially made for old time demons
Nighty is such a
Naughty out-fit
Resembling an unclean workman
In a dirty garage
Whosoever is young and pretty
Lovely and structurally winsome
May not shine up
As sharply as best
As they are aptly deserved
Under the cover

Busy lovers guide - what proverbs foretell
'For talks six times
with the same single lady
you may get your wedding dress ready'
honestly believing on
this oldest proverb,
I started talking in my office
to the next seat lady
........... sixteen times a day
to double up the speed
but both of us are yet to know
when to get our coveted dresses ready
very lately I discover now....
the basics I missed, through another proverb
'Love ceases to be a pleasure
when it ceases to be a secret'

For My Eyes Only
FOR MY EYES ONLY
It is raining outside
And time is up
For my sweet-heart to turn up
Form her evening classes
I have been screening each bus
Expecting her to step down
And she usually walks down
In the showering rains, fully wet.
I am to present her an umbrella today
To stop seeing her wet like this
Fully drenched, she glows as striking beauty
This ‘idol' is exclusively mine and
No third man has any right otherwise………..
